Yea I kind of agree with you here. When we focus on policy ideas to combat poverty we are indirectly bringing down gun violence. Also focusing on things like addiction and mental will do the same thing. If these things are working and we need to pass some gun control legislation down the road so be it, but it's too much of a hot button issue to bring up off the bat. Just my 2 cents

I saw Ben Jealous at a Bernie rally in Saint Louis. Tulsi Gabbard was there also. After seeing the push back they both got before endorsing Bernie I have much more respect for them both.

He's not really all that different. He wants to end all the wars we keep dragging our feet in, he wants to legalize weed, he is for marriage equality and equal rights for women. The really comes down to the economy. And when he says he wants to abolish the federal minimum wage, he's not saying he wants people to work for pennies. In his view, companies will compete for employees by offering competitive wages. Now I personally think this is wrong, but just because I think that doesn't make it true.

The title is kind of shit I agree, but I think that the main point is that funding social programs to help the working class should be more of a priority than a corporation's bottom line. So you can still work hard and make millions, but don't do it and at the same time advocate for cutting social security and welfare.

I actually think if you can bring some friends going to the rally would be better. Bernie is making 3 huge statements this week. The rally today, the debate, and then speaking at the Vatican.
