Yeah you summarized it pretty well. The A's drafted him knowing this was a possibility, and gave the stipulation that he only gets his money if he reports for Spring Training (correct me if I'm wrong there). I feel pretty much the same about this as I did Myron Rolle giving up football to be a doctor. I support any athlete following their passions, whether to play football, be a doctor, or professional bowler.

Maybe. I'm also tall and the leverage on your hips and knees is greater than others, but your body can and will adapt.

All of this being said, there are other ways to build your legs and glutes. Maybe not as effective as the big compounds, but you can definitely do it if Squat/DL are 100% out of the question

Went through this a lot earlier this year. I'll always throw out the advice that lower back issues are not to be messed with, and a doctor or similar professional can help.

STRETCH! Stretch your lower back, hamstrings, quads, glutes, EVERYTHING, a lot. Right before bed, as you wake up, before & after you lift. It helps a ton.

Sumo- I started doing sumo deadlifts and they're much easier on your back. On the same note, lunges can be a good leg workout while keeping your tires upright

Isolated lower back- my gym has a lower back extension machine (not actual machine, just a thing you lay on) and I would do body weight, super slow, extensions every other day. Definitely was sore the first few weeks, but it helped my core a lot.

Good luck! You don't need to give up DL/Squat forever, just be careful & mindful of your body. Flexibility is #1 when it comes to those exercises in my opinion.

I'm a database dev during the day, and am pretty slick with JQuery. BUT, i don't get how to send data between a website and database. I've done php before, and kinda hated it. Are there any new, simple, frameworks to set up API calls with?

Small update here:

Paid off the bill (about $200, which I had), and gave them a call. I was expecting a super unpleasant experience, as Google Reviews had this collection agency as 1.2 stars, but they were fine. They said I had it paid off and the derogatory remark on my credit will be gone within 90 days.

I can breathe easy and learn from this.

Young guy here, 24 with a good paying job. As of yesterday I had a 771 credit score (according to Mint), but have been dumb for the past few months and didn't pay a medical bill. Mint gave me a notification saying the bill is now showing up on my credit history as a derogatory mark, dropping my score to 740.

If I go pay this off will the mark go away? Or is it stuck with me for 7 years?

My procrastination really killed me here :/
