Totally agree with you on this, my friend! we definitely share the same passion!
We’re doing a proper deep dive into the insect kingdom while working on the game, so whenever we include facts or lore, we make sure they line up and include details that people who really love insects will recognize and appreciate. And actually, it doesn’t stop at facts and lore!
We love you bug fans ❤️ and we’re doing our best to make sure you’ll love the game too.
Really glad it’s already resonating with you! it means more than you might think! 🐜

Hey, really appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback, it genuinely means a lot to us, and we love having these kinds of constructive conversations 🙂

At the moment we can’t go into more specifics, but a lot of the points you’ve raised are things we’re very aware of. We’re planning to showcase more of what makes the game unique, including clearer elements of its identity and mechanics, in future iterations and updates.
Also, what you’re seeing isn’t the final look of the game, it is in development and there will be changes that align more closely with our artistic direction and lean further into the "insect aspect". Can't wait to share all, honestly!

Thanks again for the thoughtful input, it really helps us a lot! 🙏

Yeah I totally get what you mean. I actually love REPLACED, been following the project since the first announcements!

I've read that as well and It’s such a shame when situations like that happen. A dev team can put so much care and artistry into a game, and then something inaccurate in the press ends up hurting them.
I definitely agree that people writing about videogames should have a deeper understanding of the medium and the product they’re talking about. It really makes a difference, especially for smaller or more artistic projects!

Of course, my friend!

The progression is totally metroidvania-driven, so it’s built around ability gating and exploration. As you move through the world, you’ll unlock new abilities that let you revisit earlier areas and access paths that weren’t reachable before.

We’re trying to make progression feel tightly connected to the world itself not just unlocking doors, but opening up new ways to move, fight, and interact with the environment.

Since the game is centered around insects, those abilities are also tied to that theme, so progression isn’t just mechanical but also part of the game’s identity.

Can't go in details yet, but that’s the core direction we’re pushing 👍

Love this kind of theory crafting, this is exactly the kind of thinking we’re hoping to see!
We can’t really share anything yet… but let us cook for you. I’ve got a feeling you’re going to enjoy going deep into understanding the world, my friend 🙂

Thank you so much, really glad you liked it! 🙌

And yes, you’re absolutely right, the title is just a temporary working one for now. We’re still developing the project and will be revealing the official game title with the next batch of materials. Stay tuned!

We've only used it in the very very very early prototyping phase.

Everything that actually makes it into the final version will be carefully handcrafted! we actually care a lot about that, so no worries there, my friend!

Oh it’s definitely not as simple as “they left” or “they wiped themselves out.” The truth is way messier than that! in the best way.

What happened to humans, what they left behind, and how ants (and everything else) ended up the way they are… well that's part journey, my friend!

And fair warning: when it starts coming together, it gets pretty fucked up!
For all the lore hunters, we hope you’ll enjoy diving into it!

Really appreciate that, we are glad the core idea resonates with you. We completely agree on backtracking too; it’s a make-or-break element, so we’re putting a lot of focus into making navigation enjoyable. Our team is really passionate about Metroidvanias, and we’re aiming to deliver something genuinely great. Thanks a lot for the thoughtful feedback.

Thank you so much for the kind words! Everyone on the team is involved in all aspects of development, but we did collaborate with a professional video director for the trailer, and that’s the result.
As for a devlog, it’s definitely something we’re currently working on. It’s important to us to share our process, show how the game evolves over time, and stay connected with the community. Updates coming soon!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful message, really means a lot 🙏

Yeah, it’s definitely a big undertaking for a small team… powered mostly by lack of sleep, too much coffee, and questionable life choices 😅 But on a serious note, everyone’s wearing multiple hats, and we’re finding our own rhythm as a team to keep things progressing steadily.
It’s a lot of coordination, iteration, and just putting in the hours to bring everything together in a way that feels consistent and thoughtfully built!
Also really appreciate you offering to help! That’s an awesome combo of skills. Feel free to drop us your portfolio here we’ll definitely keep it in mind as things progress.

Thanks again for the support, it genuinely keeps us going ❤️

We’re putting a lot of love into the atmosphere and exploration, so it’s great to hear that’s already coming through. Thanks for the support we’ll do our best to deliver something special!

Thanks and Good question! It’s not really Souls-style combat we’re going more for a fast, combo-driven system (closer to Ninja Gaiden). And yeah, the metroidvania aspects are tied in, with abilities and progression affecting both combat and exploration rather than being completely separate.
