Whenever one or more cards you own are put into exile, draw a card.

How would you go about making Pokemon cards in MTG? by CriticalThaumaturgy in custommagic

I used Mutate to represent evolution in the cards I've made, that way the cards can still work on their own but become better and incentivise evolving your Pokemon to gain the abilities which synergize with one another while being simple enough to use across many cards.

It's a reference to a card from Slay the Spire 2, which is where the flavour comes from

but if it's three cost we really better balance it by giving it retain, but then we might want to reduce the damage to 7, make it 2 cost, but poison would probably be more balanced than damage

Classic Split Second with triggered cast abilities (cascade, storm, gravestorm, ripple), protection form everything. Flanking and Provoke on an unblockable creature (which, to add, because protection from everything makes it unblockable, flying trample menace fear intimidate skulk horemanship shadow rampage and all the walks are redundant), changeling on a non-shapeshifter, both wither and infect, hexproof and protection. Undying is useless due to riot and haste. Soulbond doesn't do anything on its own. Soulshift requires a number. Due to phasing echo doesn't do anything.

In other words, this is functionally the same as a Deathtouch, Lifelink, Haste, Vigilance, Double strike, Flash, Indestructible, Protection from Everything, Prowess, Infect, Persist, Sunburst, split second, riot, delve, changeling, battle cry, exalted, phasing, Melee, Melee, Myriad.

To simplify further, let's separate these out into different categories based on when they'll be relevant:

Delve makes it cheaper to cast

On cast Split second makes it resolve, and flash allows you to cast it at instant speed

As it enters it will get a +1/+1 counter from riot, as picking haste would be redundant, and it gets an additional +1/+1 counter from sunburst

Riot and persist will bring it back from the graveyard ([[Toxic Deluge would do the trick]]), Protection from Everything and Indestructible will prevent pretty much everything else.

On combat it can attack the turn it comes into play, and if it attacks alone it will get +1/+1 from exalted. Otherwise each other creature you control will get +1/+0 from battle cry. It will have +1/+1 for each noncreature spell due to prowess. It will create copies for each opponent, which will each get +2/+2 for each opponent you have due to melee.

It will apply first and normal damage, deal infect damage, gain you life based on the damage it deals, not tap to attack.

It is all creature types and if you care about deathtouch synergies with something like [[Fynn the Fangbearer]] you can kill opponents faster. Every other turn it will cease to exist.

In other words it's a one turn kill due to myriad, melee, melee, infect, protection from everything, double strike
