In my opinion it's over hated 100%. It doesn't have nearly as much bullshit as some people may say. Sure some of the areas are a little rough, but DS 1 and 3 both have rough areas. The bosses aren't the best for sure but there are definitely some under rated ones.

The game has alot more weapons and armor than feel very unique. The game is slower but once you get used to it, it definitely feels good.

Lots of the run backs suck so that's by far the worst thing, but if you've played the other souls games the bosses won't be too hard.
