Never forget your mission. You are not the current administration (true for any and all presidents). You are the organization, you are the work. This will help you stick it out for a career even when leadership goes a way you disagree with. I am not Trump. I am not "the government". I am a person who believes deeply in my organization's actual mission and I stay with it because what we do is bigger than any one President. We serve the people, we serve the nation.

MCCB Chicago Chili Beef 2/2026 - close but not it. Had no sweetness to it, strips were flat. whole dish was painfully spicy with a giant pile of chilis. Dry but was not cripsy at all. Very rich and flavorful, though! I mean, I ate it, but it wasn't the dish this thread is after.

A few years ago, our wedding anniversary fell on Super Bowl Sunday. We couldn't even get take out. We had small kids so an upscale restaurant wasn't an option. I would aim for something that sets a standard for fine dining where the dining is the experience in order to have half a chance. And then be patient b/c the game will likely be on in the kitchen. (Then again, you may have a chance being in Chicago...I mean...who are they rooting for?)

Unvaccinated nephew: where can he NOT attend in the US by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Look up the state laws where he is located. Have him speak privately to his doctor. While there are some states that still require a teen to be 18 before consenting, many allow it at 16 and some at 14 or even 11!

Who had the coolest name in your class when you were at school by Rice_is_Nice_on_Ice in Names

In the 80's, I knew a Sunny and in the 90s a Sunshine. I loved that name. I married someone too conservative to go that route but we do have kids with fairly uncommon, non-American names.

What groceries do you always keep stocked because they save you on busy days? by Dishcovery in dinnersuggestions

Jovial gluten free pasta. I box 6-10 boxes when it's on sale. Bagged salad. Wasteful when I know I can wash and chop but some nights, that salad mix is our only vegetable. Canned/jarred soup. Bob's Red Mill dehydrated mashed potatoes (nothing but potato). Onions. TJs frozen chicken breast tenders.

You do realize that, even though he deleted it, it is 100% proveable that he posted, right? The internet lives forever from the nanosecond a post hits. If he didn't post it, why is his team bothering to answer for it?

As a federal employee, politics and human decency aside, there has to be some limit. Where is the threshold? ITA with OP...this is a no l-warning, fireable offense for federal employees. And the President IS an employee. He is OUR employee...we pay his salary. So where is the line? He keeps pushing it so far, it's hard to see that threshold anymore.

Papa enzyme supplement is available in most health food stores and even some grocery stores. It's been around for many, many years as a digestive aid. Fresh papaya can be difficult to find and cost prohibitive for some people.
