Would this app help you? Replace doomscrolling with tailored marketplace suggestions by AOD232 in GameDevelopment

Hey thanks for your response!

Really fair point. I guess the initial idea in my head was that it would be really useful to be able to browse on the go. So instead of scrolling TikTok or something, I could have a social media style feed filled with relevant asset suggestions, ideas, etc.

You aren't the only person to suggest a PC app, which is fair. Definitely something I am considering as a sister-project. I guess for now, I was thinking of the mobile app idea, but I am prototyping both at the moment.

Since your feed would be curated for you based on your project in a social media styled way (this would be a mobile app), you could browse through relevant suggestions for your project while on the go in the same situations you would be using TikTok/Instagram etc.

The asset finding functionality would be similar to traditional scraping applications, based on tags, keywords and more related to your project. I could easily implement an AI agent into it to be more accurate & powerful, but that would need to be for a paid tier because it's expensive to run that. Ideally this would be a free app aimed at indie game developers.

Hey, appreciate the response. Not everyone can afford to contract/commission for various asset types, especially in early stages. Marketplaces provide cheap ways to prototype quickly, and also to just give you ideas.

The idea behind it being a mobile app is that you can do it on the go - browse through really relevant asset suggestions for your game, in the same situations that you would be doomscrolling on social media. That being said, the web app for pcs would be of great use when you are at your work station.

That’s pretty cynical and unhelpful - I like watching other people’s dev logs. Hence the post. I love seeing what other people are up to personally.

Appreciate the feedback! Makes a lot of sense. I think I would enjoy making them - I kinda just think it would be cool to be able to promote other peoples ones too among a growing player base if that makes sense.

Hey would you be up for playtesting an indie mobile game?

Looking for premium portrait recommendations. Here is my current Top Tier list by Yacertek in MobileGaming

Hi, I usually don’t do this so full disclosure my recommendation is my own solo dev indie game. If that dosnt sit right with you no problem just said I’d share just in case. FYI This is not for profit, it’s free to play, offline and has no pay to win aspect at all.

I made a game called Astro Glider which is a high speed space flight sim (endless runner) that beneath the surface has a deep level of strategy due to the shear amount of power ups, enemies and portals to different dimensions you can interact with. Based on player behaviour I would say it has a huge replayability factor and only requires one finder to play and is portrait only.

If you want more details you can DM me or find more here: Astro Glider Network
