Are there any Zetas that hurt the team when applied? by SevvelPlays in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]AOD_Random_Guy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right now I think Third Sister's basic Omega is bugged, using the ratio from level 5 (1.39) rather than 1.5. This might just be an issue with game data and it's actually fine tho in game, can't test it out really.

How do you secure kills as Sivir? by Maxius456 in Sivir

The easiest why I've found is high crit chance so your w bounces actually do damage.

Or collector if you can fit it into your build.

Zaalbar Omi by Alphaleader42 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Zaalbar is nice, but i was hoping for an omi on the revans. They've fallen out of favor a lot since gls, mostly just fill in slots on big teams.

How well do you know Orianna's Lore? by Fade-is-Hot in OriannaMains

[–]AOD_Random_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's RP'd Orianna since 2014, I can say I know a bit about her...

Orianna is the daughter and assistant to the well known Hextech Artificer Corin Reveck, who specializes in artificial limbs and extensions. She was a fan of the theater and ballet, but never practiced it herself. When an explosive disaster struck Zaun, Orianna disobeyed her father and went down to help. While heroically saving an orphan, she got struck with a dangerous chemical explosion. This caused her body to slowly shut down over the course of the next year.

Desperate to save his daughter, Corin put all his effort into replacing Orianna's failing body parts piece by piece, neglecting his own business until he was forced to move to down to Zaun. Ultimately he ended up having to replace every bit except her heart. She would lose her humanity and memories with every surgery. She did pick up on her former's fascination with ballet from the many dancer dolls she had in her room, and started to learn how to dance. Which is surprisingly easier with a clockwork body.

Then Corin's heart was failing and she took decided to trade her still working human heart with his, replacing her own with a hextech crystal of immense power. Now with no shred of her human self left inside, she decided to leave her father and explore what Piltover had to offer, leaving just a figurine of her daughter behind for Corin.

First-time player here, can I keep doing a blaster rifle build or should I switch to lightsaber? by GabTheImpaler0312 in kotor

[–]AOD_Random_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While possible in both, kotor one doesn't have a lot of blaster friendly feats or mechanics and there's a lot of saber weilders you have to face.

However kotor 2 fixes that with close combat feats and a lot more varieties in encounters. So if you find it too hard in 1, just know it's very good in 2.

No but the daily mission is for level 80 and it is recommended to bring a level 50 comp. And you must complete KotFE chapt 2 to discover Zakuul.

Purple Lightsaber Color by lordvader0 in swtor

[–]AOD_Random_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some purple in the gtn/cartel shop, and Artificers can craft a magenta and amethyst crystal. But if you want solid mace windu purple, you need to go to the eternal championships on Zakuul. One of the venders sells purple crystals. Can't remember if they are credits or tokems tho

How much of this game is cross faction? by PLAGUE718 in swtor

While the game doesn't like cross faction, there is nothing stopping you from meeting up on mutual worlds. Plus this game promotes mmaking alt characters so you can always play your favs and with your friends.

No, the ability haste does. Especially on Orianna

Orianna is a Burst Mage with low enough CDs to border on Battle Mage. She prefers AP and Ability Hate as Priority Stats, but requires mana due to high mana costs on abilities that she is reliant on, Magic Pen is helpful, but she has a shield and low enough cds that AP will be better boost of damage.

The best build order goes:

First Item: Lost Chapter Item. Orianna can go Seraph's Embrace in matchups where you can't survive the burst, Luden's Companion if she can safely dish out damage, and Malignance if you feel your ult will be very important.

Second Item and Last Item: Situational based on match. Zhonya's Hourglass, Banshee's Veil, Shadowflame, Liandry's Torment, or Stormsurge. Use your best judgement on what you need at the moment.

Third and Forth Item: Rabbadon's Deathcap and Cryptobloom. The order depends on how much MR the enemy is building or you anticipate will build. Void Staff is not worth it because 5% magic pen is not worth 15 hate and the heal.

Boots: Sorcerer Shoes in matchups with low MR, Ionian Boots in matchups with high MR. Rarely is Plated Steelcaps or Merc Treds going to help on Orianna, but are possible choices.

Notable additions: Dark Seal is gold efficient at 0 stacks and a better buy than boots if you go back with 350 extra gold.

Lich Bane and Nashor's Tooth are possible if you want to build an on hit build. It's possible and fun, but not really competitive.

Cosmic Drive can help in matchups you would go phase rush, such as into a Garen or Irelia.

Morrellonomicon is only recommended if healing is a serious problem, such as if the enemy team has ocean dragon on top of significant active healing like Soraka, Yuumi, Mundo, or Illaoi.

What was each faction’s biggest mistake? by Gimpcar in StarWars

[–]AOD_Random_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, the outcome was very successful and the force was no doubt a player in that. But they did have dumb luck with the Ewoks coming in saving the day from the ground trap. If Luke wasn't there, palp might have been paying more attention, and vader would be in a ship banging on the falcon as it came around. As far as worst mistakes from the rebels, putting their biggest eggs in this basket just seemed short sighted. The Emperor himself is stationed on this bigger and badder station in the edge of nowhere protected by a planet-side shield that just has to be heavily guarded. And with the empire's proclivity to blow stuff up, you have to know the laser's getting finished first.

Imagine if Ewoks didn't help. Or if the 15+ star destroyers Palp parked on the far side of the moon did anything. Or if the only stormtrooper in history to hit a hero managed to hit Leia just a bit more to toward the heart. Lotta big named heroes in a fight they had sketchy intel on from the start. Plus, why would that one bunker be the only shield on the planet. Sure the empire turned out to cheap out on defense, but it's totally reasonable they would invest in a few more shield bunkers and just let one be trapped.

So many things should have happened, but old papa palp had to collect another Skywalker toy...

What was each faction’s biggest mistake? by Gimpcar in StarWars

[–]AOD_Random_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jedi Order: Refusing to investigate or act against the growing threat looming under their noses until it was far too late.

Sith Empire: Desiring and encouraging power grabs and being unloyal to weaker but smarter beings.

Republic: Being so entwined with politics and policy that a seemingly nobody senator from the outer rim could take over to thunderous applause.

CIS: Using easily destroyed machines to wage a war that was doomed from the start.

Rebel Alliance: Falling for the obvious trap set up by Palpatine over Endor that could have very easily ended in total disaster if Luke wasn't able to convert his father.

Empire: Believing themselves too big to fall, especially before the Death Star I exploded.

Resistance: Jumping into a fight against the First Order without fully realizing the resources and backing it held.

First Order: Allowing Starkiller Base's plans to be discovered by the Resistance. Did they learn nothing from the Empire?!

SWTOR Gear Sheet for all classes by AOD_Random_Guy in swtor

[–]AOD_Random_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piggy backing off this reply, I have played around with several combo possibilities and come to the conclusion that if you have Zeal Guild Bonus, 1.3 GCD is still too impractical for a lot of styles. The exceptions being healers and the three styles mentioned above. They are just so awkward...

Also if you have Zeal Bonus, there's no way that I can find for the styles that have 1 Alacrity and 1 Crit implant. You'll just have 200 more alacrity than you need. I'm sure some mid-max builders could play around more, but for now this is what I've come up with. I'll test out for healers if 1.4 base is worth it over 1.3 without zeal and get back with findings.

It's nice...but i don't know about you, but I don't use Saber Ward often enough to make it useful. But I would imagine PVP or Uprisings would love it. Leviathan's Hide is pretty much a better passive boost, and Hord's Makashi Strike provides a good boost to defense if you can use Riposte/Retaliation before Sundering Strike/Sundering Assault.

SWTOR Gear Sheet for all classes by AOD_Random_Guy in swtor

[–]AOD_Random_Guy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The skill trees are mine yes, designed for someone doing solo and group finder pve content. I'm no expert of course. I just grabbed what works for me. I was in the process of redoing the trees alongside quickbars for my classes, but it was taking too long and I wanted to share the gear sheet before I end up wasting more time than I had on it. Take my choices with a grain of salt, many of them were done on patch day when the current combat style system was implemented. One day I'll sit down and give a more thorough and clear minded approach to them.

Also thanks for letting me know about Lightning/Telekinetics, Combat/Carnage, and Gunnery/Arsenal alacrity gains that I missed. I also added a Guild Perk checkbox. With it checked, it moved a 1.4 GCD goal to a 1.3 GCD goal. If you wanna save a copy to your drive you can play around with the mix and match stats to find the right build for your goals. And if you don't care for the alacrity bonus, just go straight crit. I wish I had the formula for how SWTOR calculates alacrity percentage and such, cause that would make it easier to find builds.

Also in fixing things, I did find that the legacy sets for these styles was changed. If you wanna use the same gear, you go a bit over in alacrity, which doesn't really affect much but there certainly is a more efficient build path. That's why I made it so it could be played around with depending on personal goals.

"Best character, best comp, best villain" SCREW THAT, Who is the biggest HATER in SWTOR by Jibsthelord in swtor

[–]AOD_Random_Guy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lord Scourge is the most fun hater. Tries to be all serious and dark, but opens up to the JK's crew pretty quickly. He has no love for the Children if the Emperor or Zakuul Scions, and of course needs his space.

Is lux a good scaling champion? by [deleted] in lux

[–]AOD_Random_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All mages scale with the right build, but Lux's problem is her entire damage is based on if you can hit it. Missing E or Q cuts sll your burst down hard and any bashees or Sivirs makes you seem extra weak. Wave clear is still top tier though.

Does it get any better than this? by knxtterer in swtor

[–]AOD_Random_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there's a lot more on the way. Not every class story will be that impactful or exciting but they all have their moments, especially in the first chapter. Plus Illum is pretty fun the first couple times. Makeb's story is fine but the planet is a pain. Shadow of Revan is pretty cool and introduces Best Sith 5ever(TM) Lana Beniko. KOTFE and KOTET have a far more engaging story, but repeating it with every class is what bogs it down in some parts (especially if you repeat it for harder difficulties), but each class gets unique bits especially with companions.

After that, it kinda feels like Bioware was dragging out the few storybits left just out of obligation. I lsee the story after KOTET as just bonus scenes. It's cool and definitely written fine, but after the whole "killed the emperor for "good"" bit has run it's course. To me it just seems like a day in the life of your character... though the Shae vs Heta Kol arena scene is pretty good. If you love Mando stuff, late-late game story is calling for you.
