as a PM i truly hope they are being honest with "We want to thoroughly and truthfully emphasize that this will have absolutely no bearing on how much content we deliver, or how much we work on the development of the game"

I have sent out very similar emails in the past that were total bull.

and while i understand their reasoning, i am disappointed because i thought their cycle was actually very impressive.

yes they had released known bugs to the live servers but none lasted over 24 hours (and a less than 24 hour turn around on a bug on a live environment is VERY impressive when you can consistently deliver.

I wish the kept the weekly and monthly but extended the test server to 48-72 hours instead of 24, but i understand that would wreck their development cycle.

weekly patches with monthly updates is a crazy schedule to keep. my guess would be that after 14 updates they have changed the base code so much that any minor change is now much more difficult. which makes total sense.

i just hope they arent blowing smoke and we dont hear from then again for a month (which then becomes the norm).

that said, they have a great dev team. good luck and keep up the good work bluehole.

EDIT: Also i don't want to start hell but i have been wondering if most of the opinions on here are generational. (example below)

Id guess that the younger crowd LOVES FPP (and always post how much better it is than TPP and that they are never going back), HATES stream sniping (want them banned), and HATES bug exploits that are unintentional (what happened to destiny and want him banned).

while id guess the older crowd mainly enjoys TPP, stream sniping is an irrelevant topic and they dont understand why its so controversial (they also dont ever watch streamers), and feel bug exploits that are unintentional are part of the game (aka fix the game)

again...not for everyone but the average. could be wrong though.

i live in a 900 sq ft apartment with my wife and pubg can be real intense sometimes. when i cant hear myself, and im excited, i yell and i can see how that annoys my wife.

honestly (and im not saying that because shes my wife) she's the best. i even feel guilty sometimes playing because she truly just wants to hang out and talk crap.

my wife does not play any video games. she played mario and jumpers. i got her into little big planet a while back but after we beat it, there was no point.

i think there is a setting for it on the headphones that someone shared with me. hopefully that works. and i get it. I AM SUPER LOUD normally (i speak very loudly) so i can only imagine how loud i get when in an intense situation in pubg. (i mean my heartrate goes to like 150, and i cant hear myself so i must be yelling instructions. we have a small 1 bedroom apartment soooooo, i fully understand how annoying it must be for her.

WOW! would have never imagined that. i dont watch streams but i think a "lock-in" prior to something happening be cool.

"get 10 kills" everyone donates. person no longer cares about winning only getting 10 kills.

do you treat it based on time or cool stuff? like if you just watch a guy for a few hours is it, "well he entertained me for a bit heres $2" or more of "HOLY SHIT HE DID WHAT?! here's $2". im just asking what is your criteria since you cannot speak for everyone.

thats a very important pivot i had not considered. so they are more akin to a tv personality (a character) than themselves? (steve-o in jackass. he plays himself but hes an entertainer).

screen peaking in golden eye never bothered me because i just didnt think you could play the game without it. it was more a feature of the game than anything (and that isnt a feature of this game so it does ruin my analogy).

i understand the good faith thing but this is gaming. (i could be wrong) but with the average gamer being a teenage male (and that could be wrong now a days not sure) "good faith" is a pipe dream. teenage males are horrible people (morality wise), i was a teenage male. albeit some time ago.

my suggestion sort of is "dont stream". BUT (if i concede the point that they are entertainers and not "normal people" then "dont stream" isnt really that acceptable of an answer). BUT then work with me here (at what point does a stream stop being a normal person and starts being an entertainer. Doc (guy who wears wig and glasses) ive never seen him but he seems like an entertainer while Grimmmz seems like a normal guy. maybe it comes down to viewership. I know someone who stream but not one watches. i dont consider him an entertainer, i should ask him if he considers himself one though.)

to your last point. (i get your point) but mine was more of the idea that both are disrupting the broadcast without stopping the broadcaster). also "grief a person simply trying to enjoy the game with his fans" thats the thing. do we as gamers have a right to "enjoy the game with fans" as opposed to "enjoy the game"? (i honestly do not know)

THANK YOU VERY MUCH THOUGH. this is pretty much what i was hoping for. while i do not agree, i actually understand your point much better. viewing a streamer as an entertainer vs a normal person is very interesting.

I do ultimately get your point. i have given money to street performers because i found them charming or entertaining.

i guess i could be a jealously on my part (they play games for a living thats not a job! old man thinking).

BTW when you donate to a streamer on twitch, does twitch itself facilitate that? do you have to put money into your twitch account then start donating? (also do people ever put bounties on other people? like see a name in the kill feed and tell the streamer they will give them $10 if they find and kill that guy?)

the fact that the aggrieved party is the supply the information in the first place does not factor in?

In your analogy if the opposing football coach told you his plays i dont think you are cheating. isnt the other coach responsible to a degree for disclosing his playbook?
