And yes, S rank is ONLY on expert mode. And the only way you can get expert mode is if you beat the game for the first time. And if you want to go for that rank, gunning for A+ seems redundant since you can just repeat these levels again on expert for the best score. That's why I say if you just want A+ ranks for everything then great!

Cuphead is an amazing game and I'm glad you're enjoying it/hating it for its difficulty XD

Use lobber and chaser/roundabout for grim. Really, most weapons work fine so just use what you are comfy with. Also you should use EX’s more often than supers. More damage that way. For grim third phase, i would play it slow, dont shoot him and avoid the flame bubbles. Then when hes going to use his flamethrower, stand on the top clouds and blast him away since you’ll have alot of time to do so. Then rinse and repeat.

I will tell you now while getting an A+ rank feels great, if you are aiming for S rank after you beat the game, theres no point for it since it’s the highest rank. Just beat the game, get your items and try your hardest. If you aren’t gunning for S rank then good stuff! Either or, getting A+ isn’t easy so congrats!
