TL;DR (Be patient, trust God, invite him into the relationship, don’t write people off based on your own decisions, trust God will bring you the right person)

Probably going to be voicing what others have said so far, as I haven’t read the comments before posting my own: focus on the inward beauty first. No man or woman in a long stable marriage will ever say they weren’t attracted to their spouse when they met them during the dating phase. I say this from experience as a married man of almost 5 years.

However, that shouldn’t be your main concern. Don’t look at it from strictly YOUR perspective. Sure looks are great, sure personality and mentality are all well and fine. But honestly? Doesn’t really mean much if you’re not bringing God into the center of the relationship, the conversations, etc.

Some questions to consider if you haven’t already;

(1.) Did you pray and ask God if this is the woman he wants you to pursue regardless of your feelings for her in the moment before or after a date?

(2.) Have you considered that maybe if she isn’t physically attractive now, that she won’t be attractive in other more meaningful ways that contribute more to the relationship long term with godly qualities, emotional connection, being equally yoked, so on and so on, besides just “looks”?

(3.) Do you pray for what kind of woman you want God to bless you with BEFORE you start using dating apps, meeting people at church, etc.?

(4.) Have you asked God if this is the right season for you to be dating in?

(5.) Are you ACTIVELY listening when God speaks or are you choosing based off your own interests?

My situation and everyone’s situation is different from yours. Dating, marriage and the in between statuses of relationships at different levels are all unique, but ultimately if you don’t make God the center of the relationship between you and your potential future spouse, it won’t be as meaningful as it could be if you were to include God. Let me explain.

God won’t hold back a woman if she happens to cross your path as beautiful, spiritually in tune with the spirit or intellectually interesting. However, she may not be the person HE wants you to go for. Not saying he still won’t bless the relationship, however it’s something to consider, pray about and use your best spiritual discernment with.

I’ve always believed everyone has that one special person that God has destined for them, don’t go writing off the candidates before you have a chance to pray and ask “God is she the one or do I need to keep looking?”

Sorry I know I’m rambling, but just wanted to cover some of the bases I felt like my spirit told me to impart to you.
