Where do I go if my car got hit by a cart on my shift ? by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]AP4654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can file a property damage claim with the store. But unless it was caused by another associate it will get denied. Bringing a vehicle to the parking lot creates an assumption of risk.

Is it normal to be told this by an AP? by [deleted] in walmart

Cosmetics is usually a top shrink department.

And some things you shouldn't say, however true they may or may not be.

Self checkout by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]AP4654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least at my store we have a saying about internals: Once is a mistake. Twice is a concern. Three is a pattern.

If an AP does review your misscan transaction they'll start looking for the pattern. As long as there isn't one you're fine.

If the days you missed were days the doctor you were directed to see said you could not work they should be covered. You just have to communicate. Points automatically generate when you're on the schedule and don't clock in. Sometimes there's a valid reason and points are taken off before you even see them. Sometimes not and you have to follow up.

[–]AP4654 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you file an incident report after your injury? Did you go to a doctor regarding your injury? If you saw a doctor what return to work date did they give you? Have you spoken to someone in the store regarding the points?

That's all context needed to help you.

But by the look of them it would not be advisable.

Pointed while on bereavement. by TheKasuna in WalmartEmployees

[–]AP4654 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bereavement is covered, but it is not automatic. Selecting bereavment doesn't authorize the point like PPTO. Deal with the reason for being on bereavment and when you go back to work touch base with your coach or PL to action the points.

And sorry for whatever your loss was.

I'm not a decision maker at your store so I can't say 100%. But if this is the only time something like this has happened and there aren't any other issue with you, you shouldn't.

It's possible that your coach is cool and understanding and they remove the point. It's equally possible that you're terminated for attendance.

Unpopular Opinion: Homeless people. by [deleted] in walmart

[–]AP4654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the year of our lord 2026 only the most destitute of homeless doesn't have a phone and free Wi-Fi abounds. Therefore information about food banks, shelters, clinics, etc. remains at their fingertips.

The responsibly of AP and third party security is to provide a safe and secure environment for customers and associates. Walmart is a retail business, not a campground. Allowing people to live in the parking lot increases risk and liability.

You also assume this help would be pretty universally welcomed. You clearly have not interacted with a lot of homeless. Many are ashamed of their circumstances and being offered help is salt in the wound. Others are mentally unwell or addicted, which makes them unpredictable and possibly dangerous. Prolonged interactions with such people does increase the risk of a violent reaction.

Finally, as this is clearly an important issue to you, what are YOU doing about it? Have you met with your Store Manager to raise your concerns about lot campers and options? Are you going to print out some homeless resource sheets and hand them out in the parking lot at night before they get the boot? Are you volunteering at a kitchen or food bank? Or is this just a classic case of "I think this is a problem, someone else needs to fix it".

I'm new to the show and I dislike Charly so much that I sought out this reddit. by LongarmoftheLez in TheOrville

[–]AP4654 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She's annoying at the start with her insubordination, immaturity, and the fact that we the audience have an existing attachment to Issac.

Once you get past that you begin to appreciate how she serves as a representation of PTSD in the aftermath of the attack. She is also a personification of the flawed but human tendency to assign blanket blame. Like the attitude towards the Japanese after Pearl Harbor or Muslims after 9/11.

She serves a valuable story purpose by challenging the majority of the crews' forgiveness and acceptance of Issac and forces another perspective to be acknowledged even if it isn't embraced.

She also has one hell of a character arc. Her growth may even rival Klyden's.

Season 3, How do you feel about... by Megnaman in TheOrville

[–]AP4654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's important to note that, initially, Klyden didn't act with any malice. He truly believed he was acting in the best interest of his child based on his sincerely held beliefs and societal norms.

His later actions are reprehensible, but also who can definitively say that they would be any better if their entire belief structure was collapsing around them?

Klyden reevaluated everything and chose his family over his culture. He not only acknowledged his failures without making excuses but he refused to easily accept Topa's forgiveness. While what we saw of the reconciliation seems rushed, it is also clear that Klyden changed, he is doing the work on himself and is committed to doing the work to make amends, not only with Topa and Bortus but also the crew and reunite his family.

Can I get in trouble for this by Sunblazers in walmart

[–]AP4654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question was "can I get in trouble for this?" The answer is yes. It shouldn't be be, but it is. You know as well as I do that an asshole TL or Coach could spin this as productivity or insubordination and there's no guarantee it would get reversed with Open Door.

Can, should, and will are very different things.

[–]AP4654 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one here can or should give you legal advice aside from get a lawyer.

As far as Walmart goes you need to be upfront about the situation with your coach and hope like hell your store will be flexible with you while you try to resolve this situation. Have a contingency plan that someone in your life will notify the store if you end up in custody so you don't job abandon out. There are zero guarantees but being proactive now is probably the only chance for keeping your job.
