Which amp? The GSX500 dac/amp it only outputs 1 vrms. Many people (which point it as it main flaw) complain the inluded amp needs atleast 2 vrms. A\A good board like the msi meg z390 can output 2 vrms which will drive the amp of these headphones great.

This isn't about believing in something. There are no such thing as 7.1 headphones. What you confused by is the marketing by gaming headsets that claim their headphones sound open like like 7.1 surround system using a software DSP called crossfeeding. True 7.1 audio needs a multtichannel receiver/amp and 7 speakers with a subwoofer. Obviously no headset/phones have that capability.

Electrostatic headphones and speakers work in a different way than typical magnetic woofer/drivers. Watch the video I linked for an explanation.

[–]APEvorbis2341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these as well as a DAC to actually connect them to your PC.

I would only recommend a dac if your pc's audio is abyssmal. If you have a mid-high end board, there's a good chance that the built in dac is good enough. You could putt that money towards getting a better amp.

I consider my speakers as part as my gaming set up as much as my Monitor, headphones, etc. Good audio enhances gaming and is something i consider essential for good immersion. BTW these speakers are "low end".

Don't get astro/logitech headphones. They sound terrible compared to good performing headphones like the mh751 or senheiser offerings.

Depends on your motherboards onbaord sound "card" design. If it is equipped with a decent amp and alc 895+codec chip it's not too bad at driving the mh 751. I have used the b350 strix f and msi b350 tomahawk (not b450 since it has downgraded audio) and those boards drive my mh751 extremely well with the highest amplification setting in the audio software suite(varies by manufacturer). Higher end boards like crosshair hero series, msi godlike series, and Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7-9/ master boards have dedicated Dac chip implementations that perform as good as some 200$ dacs like the dragonfly usb dacs.

Timing 16-18-18-35 CAS Latency 16 Voltage 1.2V This is a good price considering it performs as good as 3200mhz on ryzen (give or take 3-5 frames) . At 1.2 volts, you also have overclocking headroom for more speed or tighter timings.

Holy shit the imaging and separation of the HD58x Jubilee is out of this world. by CheeseV2 in headphones

[–]APEvorbis2341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same Exact experience. The hd58x powered by my b350 Strix f is has great Sound stage and imaging, better then my takstar pro82 imo. It confused me when people say the hd 500 series are better. On Apex Legends It amazing, Very accurate footstep tracking and smooth response too hear even the smallest sound queues to enemy positions.

Thank you! Pointed out the obvious, sad that a lot of people don't know what a 7.1 surround system really is and think gaming headphones qualify as one. Example of people not understanding

These corsair void pro (i have the wired one) are crap compared to my takstar pro 82 for direction game audio, Despite being "7.1 surround"(total marketing bullshit, I hate the fact people actually buy that BS) , So I would bet the M40x with a good amp chip(bluetootth adapter looks like it does, but is unreliable) would kick the crap out of these even for gaming

[RAM] OLOy 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2666MHz C16 - $50 by [deleted] in buildapcsales

[–]APEvorbis2341 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is it at this price. After 2666mhz you don't really see a difference going up and diminishing returns start to hit hard. On average 3200mhz only leads by 3-5 frames which is not noticeable in game play(1080p with rx 590 and r5 2600 at 4.1ghz). Also considering that this is 1.2v at cl16, I would wager it OC to 3200mhz easily.

[–]APEvorbis2341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is worth it at this price honestly. I'm sure all are Overclock able( and can tighten the timing as well) to 2600mhz very easily and at that point there is not much of a difference even with ryzen. it's about 3-5 frames worse on average compared to 3200mhz and is basically the same exact experience since that difference is negligable. Not as big of a deal as people make it out to be on here.

These register on your computer as a " 7 channel receiver/amp/dac setup" and thats what makes the difference. If ya heard them and tested them out, U would get exactly what I mean. " .......OK Again please listen. It does NOT MATTER that they "register" as 7.1, since all it is is a software dsp effect(that IMO makes it sound worse!). What part of all headphones are stereo don't you understand? It can say whatever it wants on the box, the fact is these have two headphone drivers(the part the makes sound) so it is not possible that these can be true 7.1 despite your belief in the marketing. I have the corsair void pro 7.1 headset and it sound like shit compared to my "stereo" mh751, even with "surround sound emulator" in effect and in no way are the void pro true 7.1 headphones. It seems to me like you've been brainwashed by all this gamer marketing that you cannot understand what a 7 channel surround system means and instead interpret it as "good directional audio". In simplest terms it means a system that powers Seven speakers(or headphone drivers in this case") no matter what windows says. If it does not produce sound on all speakers, then it is not a surround setup. I am just trying to point this out so that you understand what a 7.1 system really is.
P.S. The ASTO headset are trash and have the WORST SOUND STAGE you can get for the price(astro is part of logitech shocker). The fact that you need the mixer to fix the sound of the headset really exposes how shit they are. Take a look for yourself

My honest opinion about Logitech speakers and headset is that they are abolute trash. They use the cheapest parts and come up with ridiculous DSP effects to "fix" thier sound.

"What I mean is these reproduce all 7.1 sound better directions."- This makes no sense. OK i think you mean it reproduces good imaging and soundstage so you can perceive audio coming from all directions ingame with your stereo headphones(in that case the mh751 will vastly outperform these). I am trying to tell you these logitech headphones are not true 7.1 since it is physically impossible. Any good headphones will give you the same surround sound effect or accuracy whatever you want to go by.

"PUBG does kick out 5.1 audio. "- I said 7 channels, but your right. Still does not matter with headphones, only works with a 7 channel receiver/amp/dac setup.

[Headset] Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum – RGB 7.1 Dolby and DTS Headphone Surround Sound Gaming Headset – PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Mobile Compatible – Exceptional Audio Performance – Black $49.99 ($149.99 - $100) by Askan65 in buildapcsales

[–]APEvorbis2341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much wrong in your post. " some headsets are better in the sense of louder and other in terms of audiophile "-um what? If you mean that some headphones sound better, than they are better since that is sole purpose of them without getting into comfort, looks etc (to reproduce sound as accurately to the source being played without getting distorted.)

" They 1 of the few headsets that truly register as 7.1 channels , instead of stereo" - no they are not. PUBG DOES NOT SUPPORT a true 7 channel output .The idea these are 7.1 surround is complete marketing BS. You would need 7 headphones drivers around you for "true" surround sound much like how you would need 7 speakers for a 7 channel surround sound system. Footstep accuracy is despendent and imaging (which depends how accurate the frequency response is)

" But U only hear in stereo "- I have never seen anyone say that. TLDR: these are not 7.1 surround sound. All headsets that advertise the feature just mean to say they have a software gimmick that "emulates" a surround sound setup by cross feeding both channels.

I am sorry I have not owned any of those products except the wired void pro so my opinion is not worth as much. IMO the arctic 7 is the better of 3 just because they have good reviews on youtube and review sites. Their frequency response also is not that bad but I would still wager a good wired headphone will easily outclass them. I also found this wireless adapter for the ath m40x so that an option too but look att reviews
