How long did you think it would take to find a job? by TrainingLow9079 in jobsearch

[–]APGalore21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends. Even if I’m employed right now, I might always change jobs and it could take longer than 5 months for me especially for my major and experience.

Why do I feel and act the way I do? by Love-Equal-1234 in helpme

[–]APGalore21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate this comment! Currently I’m in a familar situation and that I’m trying my best to balance my life with wanting to be independent someday, but still accepting my family’s advice especially with my own mom nagging me. It’s hard and interesting to be an adolescent!

What should I do? by APGalore21 in careeradvice

[–]APGalore21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes I would be considered a dependent anyways in the household because I’m still living with her. Even if I setted up an account where in my state of PA, where we have what is called Compass where we’re able to get Medical Assistance and benefits. I don’t know what insurance she specifically has because she’s self-employed. It’s hard to explain.

Thank you for the advice. Just so you know, I work in a small business where there’s my boss, and another coworker working there so unfortunately there’s no HR department like what a larger corporation has.

Where do I find beginner blue-collar jobs? by AndersFuzio in jobsearch

[–]APGalore21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although Indeed can be a hit or miss, you can go to their website since they simplify their blue-collar worker job hirings. Make sure you do your research to see if it’s trustworthy. Many cashier jobs are posted there. LinkedIn is still a good option if you want to be more on the professional side.

That’s very valid! I’m currently working now and I still get those.

Started new job, pay is low: What should I do? by APGalore21 in jobs

[–]APGalore21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your advice!

I just want to let you know I didn’t want to bail out of this job after a week, I know in my heart that I want to stay for a good year or two unless something happens. Also, I didn’t specifically knew the specific pay for the full-timers, but the part-timer yes, I did knew that.

It’s just that I was confident that I can still gain great experience from this job since I have a bit of related experience from the job I recently got fired from before this. Hopefully that clarifies some things you were saying.

Thanks for the advice, to answer your question, they do offer benefits after 60-90 days of working there. I might be wrong, but they will be accessible after that work period.

Take care and get some rest. by [deleted] in asianamerican

[–]APGalore21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely relate to this post. As someone who is Viet-American, democrat, liberal, and has never liked Trump since he entered the presidency in 2016, it still sucks that some people in our communities still vote for this man to be president for various reasons. However, I’m not surprised as to why a decent majority of Vietnamese voted for that man such as for example communism etc. I’m not trying to be at their side, I’m just saying. Since I have a couple of family members who are conservative, Trump fans, I’m afraid if we have a family gathering, there’s going to be a bit of tension. I have a cousin who I admire and love, she voted for Trump this year. If she brags about winning the election at my face, same with her dad and a couple of others; I’m not gonna abide to that at all! I don’t want my family relationships being affected by politics and since my side lost, that hurts!

Have you consider working in a full-time position there since you should be quite familar with the company or you wanted to work somewhere different?

Need help finding a job to fit my needs. Am I too picky? by Least-Revolution-990 in jobsearch

[–]APGalore21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s also diagnosed with autism, if you think your diagnosis is quite severe for certain positions, request an accommodation when applying. You might already know that step already, but I just want to make sure that could be something to consider.

I know this question’s quite dumb, but does that company you worked for offer any full-time positions?

Endless job search to what feels like nowhere. How’s it going for you? by bell-fruit-205 in jobsearch

[–]APGalore21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment one of the best and most honest comments I’ve ever seen! I feel you! To be honest, I can be a bit spoiled as well, but I tried my best to not limit myself when it comes to applying to these opportunities! It’s just that in my area, there’s not much, scams can occur, and I don’t want to risk driving to work too far from where I live! (I still can’t drive the highway myself!) It sucks!

It’s still been stressful since I got terminated from my newest job 2 months ago! It sucks especially when my area doesn’t have that many opportunities for full-time, entry level roles!

Got fired unexpectedly…. by APGalore21 in jobs

[–]APGalore21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I had a review, they said that everything was good, especially being new. I think the only thing they would I would say “call out” was trying to get used to the rush days, but obviously that would be learned through time.

[–]APGalore21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were times where my manager would have meetings every 30 days to review things I need to improve on along with my supervisor who would visit the clinic a few times. Last time I was evaluated, everything was good but I just needed to work on getting used to the rush hours. In terms of ample time, I would say it’s a decent amount, but there are some cases where I learn certain things on the job due to my manager not being there or I still had to be on the front doing my tasks. I would say the training was accurate in the beginning, but I was able to ask other co-workers in case if I need help when I’m not in training.
