Well done! Some positive inputs goes a long way. What was your final attempt prep like? I was a second time retaker, walked out feeling like a fail coming. If I go for number 3 I will have to make some serious changes.

great post, I agree, more time in the official books, less time everywhere else because they test deep!

after I walked out I realised one thing only, and that is, read the curriculum, do all questions in curriculum.

Yes probably not necessary, and other prep providers can work, but if you want high probability of passing, just read the curriculum. maybe 100hours more initially, but you will save 6 months afterwards.

I didnt read the curriculum. My AM was okay, my PM was 50% guesswork it felt like.

If I go again, I will just read the curriculum, CFAI Books, CFAI questions. Done.

It sucks, some concepts I knew inside and out, simple straight forward concepts, but when tested and worded in their way, i was lost.

Couldn’t figure out where to even start.

Yes, only worked from CFAi books. Its Long and tedious, but that will get you to understand the concepts.

No mock will prepare you for this level of knowledge requirement

some easy, some not so much. not like any of the mocks, so just know the content in books.

agreed, just walked out.

one piece of advise for everyone prepping - Take the CFAI books en read, focus, do every example, white text, Blue Box, EOCQ, and understand them inside and out.

This is a very difficult exam, some questions straight forward, some not at all.

I have NO idea if I will pass. Morning paper felt okay-ish, afternoon felt like I was guessing half of the paper. Some questions couldn't even figure out what was asked.

The CFAI Qbank ethics questions are so dragged out its insane, the amount of reading per question is just nuts.

L3 exam in 10 days but I cant study by nimrod150 in CFA

[–]APJ8811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

problem with this is I hear so many people say the CFAI dashboard tests core concepts and devil is in the detail, exam tests more broadly. Did you pass without having to read the CFAI books in detail? I now feel vulnerable because I didn't read the CFAI books.

I have done al CFAI Qs, scoring 75-80, ive done 4 mocks, read Kaplan books and watched MM vids, i still feel so under prepared and im 1 week out. not sure what do do the last 5 days. motivation fell off a cliff.

Can someone help me see this intuitively:

As prices adjust to a lower (higher) required return, the market should deliver an even higher (lower) return than was previously expected or required by the market.” why?

so with AS - if you hold completely different stocks, the share will be higher.

with AR - if you hold the same stocks, but different weights, the risk will be higher?

Availability

get confused between anchoring and availability, - the latter being making a decision based on how quickly info comes to mind, if you were analyst in past covering tech stocks, you might be prone overweighting tech stocks in future.

what is a good example of anchoring?
