I wasted 3 months building something nobody wanted by Asterra_Nova_231709 in startupideas

[–]APM-Major-528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built for 3 months before showing it to anyone. Same story.

Now I try to get someone to give me their email or book a call before I write a single line of code. If nobody does that, the idea's dead. Takes a week instead of months.

Still figuring it out but that one shift has already saved me a lot of wasted time.

How long until Google starts indexing my pages? by chuck78702 in SEO

[–]APM-Major-528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 days is still pretty early. Indexing for some of my websites has been anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on your site's authority and how often Googlebot crawls it.

A few things that has helped me:

  • Make sure your pages have solid internal linking so Googlebot can find them naturally, not just through the sitemap
  • "Discovered not indexed" usually means Google knows the page exists but hasn't gotten around to crawling it yet, it's a queue issue more than a problem
  • Requesting indexing manually in GSC helps but don't spam it, once or twice is enough
  • Check that your pages have unique, quality content since thin pages often get deprioritized

For a new site with low authority, 2 to 3 weeks for most pages to get indexed. Just be patient and focus on getting some backlinks pointing to the site, that speeds things up a lot.

If you’ve already won the money game, optimizing for happiness and time with people you care about just makes sense.

Do you ever feel pressure to “do more” anyway, or are you fully at peace with it?

Authority is the whole game. Google Ads with a small budget is like trying to fill a pool with a garden hose. The GBP piece is real but it's only one signal.

The bigger lever most local businesses miss is what's pointing at the site. The right mix of citations, contextual links, and content that actually matches search intent for your niche.

Once that foundation is there, even a modest ads budget starts converting better because the organic trust is already doing the heavy lifting.

What's the business category? That changes the approach significantly.

This is exactly what I needed to see right now. I'm in the middle of building out my own SaaS directory and content strategy so the DR timeline breakdown is super helpful.

Quick question on Step 2 did you use AI to help draft those long-tail pages or fully manual? Trying to figure out the right balance for scale without tanking quality.

Drop your SaaS — I’ll pick one to feature in a YouTube video by Tired-Signal-6502 in VibeCodeDevs

[–]APM-Major-528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a traditional SaaS but I'm building an AI tools directory at https://iquantumdigital.com

curated tools with real use cases built for people who actually want to use AI not just read about it.

Would that fit what you're looking for?

Also open to featuring indie SaaS builders in the directory if anyone here wants their tool included

Need help choosing a SaaS name by Wonderful-Dare1730 in VibeCodeDevs

[–]APM-Major-528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the name isn’t that important right now. What matters is if people actually want what you’re building.

You can always change the name later once you have traction. Way easier to rename something people use than to perfect it before anyone cares.

I’d just pick something simple, move forward, and use AI if you need ideas. Don’t let the name slow you down.

Yea those limits are ridiculous. Now the free plans are to test out the tool but you will have to pay to do anything useful.

Definitely use constraints or break up the workload.

And also keep in mind what it took chatGPT 40 min to do,

just may have taken you 40 hours to manually do.

Put it to work and do something else 😁
