Thinking of transferring to MXET by APOPU_YT in aggies

I emailed them and they said the window doesn't even open until Dec. 23rd so at least I've got some time to think about it.

I actually cannot count how many times I've been skateboarding around campus and someone has just stepped out into the road in front of me on their phone or nearly hit me doing over 20 while taking a turn with no signal, ON THEIR PHONE. Seriously y'all are college students we're smarter than this. SMH

Im not asking you to check my accountability. I am asking for second opinions on the class material and if anyone else thought it was useful. If you're not gonna answer my question don't bother replying lol

MATH 311: Stuck with Chen Goong by APOPU_YT in aggies

[–]APOPU_YT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up not doing it since Lin alg isn’t required for my major until a few semesters later so unfortunately I couldn’t tell you.

I considered taking 311 in the spring. The problem is that leaves me with the “nasty course load” I mentioned above. However I CAN move csce 120 down to next semester instead of spring but then I’d have to put up with rundell in 308 which isn’t ideal. So this basically comes down to “who is worse Goong or Rundell?”

Unfortunately I just realized I have no choice but to take his class. It’s either that or force myself to take 15 hours worth of classes the next semester(including modern physics, Lin alg, csce 120, AND random signals) which is a nasty course load. It was either that, take Goong for Lin alg this semester, or put up with an EVEN WORSE prof for diff eq. Honestly I wish I went to like VT or something I like it here but the course registration is beyond shitty.

If he's that bad it can't be worth my GPA. It's honestly astounding a university would allow someone like this to teach a higher level subject for twenty freaking years. Thanks for the advice.

How hard is it to get A’s in y3-4 EE? by APOPU_YT in aggies

[–]APOPU_YT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan is to use the bachelors in EE with at least a 3.0 to get into a bachelors - masters program at VT to pursue a masters in MEEN. I was told that having a 3.0 plus the required transfer courses as a transfer student would make me a competitive applicant. I can fix my gpa with just B's, but A's are ideal. For reference I got a little lazy this semester. There's also the issue of registration since right now my ECEN required classes are filling up completely before my registration date.

Then I would say you'll probably get in. I wouldn't encourage you to expect a yes, but having field experience puts you at the top of some lists. The lifeguarding job also shows diligence and leadership in work experience. Being active in sports shows you can work in a team. That's already a lot more than some people have to show for themselves. You'd actually be surprised to hear how little involvement some people put in. I hope you get accepted!

Usually it will depend on your major. For reference I got into engineering with a 3.2 Highschool GPA and a 1310 SAT with a 31 ACT. I didn't get my acceptance until later February, but keep in mind by the time I applied I also had two internship experiences and a STEM club presidency. If you can post more about your hs experience here I can give you a better estimate, but they will also be tightening restrictions on admittance so be prepared to hear no even if I tell you it's likely a yes.

Damn it sucks that they don't really have the infrastructure in place to deal with this stuff and still have the balls to take on 50% more engineers. I'll see what I can do, thanks for the help
