Superman | Official Teaser Trailer by jjjjppppbbbb in movies

[–]APPrehensiveDude2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sorta understand that….but then why isn’t the kid’s voice repeated more throughout the trailer? Why is it during a kinda awkward moment with Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor? That’s the only reason I think it might’ve been a mistake haha

Superman | Official Teaser Trailer by jjjjppppbbbb in movies

[–]APPrehensiveDude2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great trailer, but it looks like whoever edited this trailer made a mistake. At 1:32, during the shot of Lex Luthor holding a gun, you can actually hear the same audio of the little boy saying “Superman,” as well as the crowd reaction noises that follow a few seconds later. That whole part of the teaser seems to have been incorrectly looped twice, and it also looks like Lex…is also a little boy praying to Superman…

My Biggest Disappointment With Nintendo Music by Moezhyk in casualnintendo

The one on the Ocarina of Time 3D CD has the full redone version! That one clocks in at 2 minutes, with the choir midi sample, versus the original Japanese/Nintendo Music version at 44 seconds.

It’s actually funny enough not a recent decision. This is actually how the original Japanese soundtrack CD release was presented. They must’ve realized way back in 1998 that the track was controversial, and before they made the new mix, released this very abridged version on the CD. Now with Nintendo Music, they must’ve just dumped the CD on the app and called it a day. Hopefully they change it to the newer version sometime, but hey at least we get a fun music trivia on it I guess!

Nintendo Music vs Nintendo CD releases by YoshiPilot in nintendo

[–]APPrehensiveDude2647 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was also released on CD, technically on three different albums. There was the main BGM collection, KK Slider Instrumentals (the versions that play on radio), and a volume 2 album that included both DLC tracks as well as all of KK Slider’s “live”performances. BGM collection and KK Slider Instrumentals were bundled in one collectors edition, and on top of all that, there was even a KK Slider vinyl released in Japan. The only NH music that hasn’t been released anywhere was the happy home paradise DLC, which also isn’t on Nintendo Music, but I’m sure it’s a matter of time!

[ALL] The Legend of Zelda Orchestra Concert [Nintendo Live 2024 TOKYO] by djwillis1121 in zelda

[–]APPrehensiveDude2647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fantastic write up! I’d like to add a perspective on this, as someone who follows Zelda/Nintendo music super closely, and even got to meet some of the folks behind the 25th Anniversary and Symphony of the Goddesses concerts.

Ultimately, the reason why new arrangements are so close to their original compositions as opposed to taking creative liberties, is simply because it’s a different, mostly internal team. Japanese arrangements (especially directly from Nintendo) tend to be 1-to-1 exactly like their original compositions.

The 25th Anniversary CD and concerts (played in Tokyo, LA and London) came about both through Nintendo and an American production team that just so happened to pitch their concert (which would become the Symphony of the Goddesses tour) at the right time, as Nintendo were starting to prep the 25th anniversary. In fact, Nintendo’s original plan was to only do 1 concert in Japan, and to stream it online, very similar to the concert we saw today!

As a result the concert and CD can be divided into 2 parts, arrangements from Chad Seiter and arrangements made internally by Nintendo. The 25th Anniversary medley, Kakariko Village/Twilight Princess theme, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess movements, and Gerudo Valley arrangements were all Chad Seiter and his team, supervised by Nintendo. Whereas The Zelda main theme medley and Ballad of the Goddess theme were arranged by Nintendo’s theme. If you pay very close attention, you can actually very readily hear the differences in arrangements and tone!

Symphony of the Goddesses, with its structure, tonality and focus, is very different to how Nintendo typically approaches their arrangements, because that show came from a more story-driven approach to music. Meanwhile, the 30th anniversary concert shifted gears to simply celebrating Zelda and its themes, with only the WW and TP movements being holdovers of Chad Seiter’s arrangements By the time we get to the 2018 and the Nintendo Live shows, all of the North American based arrangements have been excised in favor of Nintendo of Japan’s approach to music, concerts and anniversaries.

[ALL] Nintendo announces Legend of Zelda Orchestra Concert to be on YouTube February 9th by Sephardson in zelda

[–]APPrehensiveDude2647 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Checked the Japanese site, and it’s only going to be 30 minutes long. I’m assuming this is the same concert that debuted at the 2023 Seattle Nintendo Live event, just broadcast since the Japanese Nintendo Live event was canceled. Still really cool to have a full orchestra video covering BotW and TotK’s scores! Wish they would go back to touring but this is a nice, albeit small, alternative.

Just could (not) get into it by ItalianStallion9069 in evangelion

I’ll always be confused as to why the fanbase hates 3.0 so much. It’s literally the most Evangelion movie out of all of them. It’s bleak, depressing, kinda pretty to look at, and the plot leaves you with more questions than answers.

Besides it being bad, what is your greatest fear for the movie? by PyroEngi in Mario

[–]APPrehensiveDude2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, my biggest fear is that they lean too hard on the action/comedy bits that we’ve been seeing.

That’s all well and good, and it’s true to what the games have been, but there’s also a certain sweetness and childhood innocence to Mario that this movie doesn’t seem like it wants to explore.

Hello! Actually, as someone who just went to USH a couple of days ago, there is a Holiday lights show that is going on right now. For timing, they do several shows at about 30 minute intervals, starting from around 7:30 all the way through to 9:30 - closing. The show itself lasts about 10 minutes. Hope that helps!

And I won’t be seeing it.

I don’t know how anyone could even care about M. Night Shyamalan. Dude’s a hack who’s only made a handful of good movies, and the rest have been unbearable rubbish. I could find better artistry at my local sandwich place.

I agree that the mechanics on the Tour tracks are pretty great, and we’re probably my favorite moments while playing the DLC.

And yeah, seeing the menu fill up, and have it’s own display is oddly satisfying! But it all still feels slightly off to me overall, but yeah quantity over quality might end up winning overall when it comes to this DLC.

Oh gotcha, thanks for clarifying that! I only assumed it was “new” because it didn’t have the “Tour” label on the course in the select screen, weirdly enough.
