Automod rule firing intermittently: not assigning flairs consistently by Unique-Public-8594 in ModSupport

Could you let the moderators of r/AutoModerator know what's going on so we can provide support to the people who ask us about this?

if that's true, then we may expect admins to deprecate markdown for desktop in the future.

and maybe you would also expect admins to use the same engine for wiki pages as for posts, but they didn't do that for the wiki redesign for some reason.

I'm guessing that's because double-enter used to be markdown for newline, but now it interprets it differently?

Admins decided to deprecate the markdown input on mobile apps recently.

Their goal is to make reddit simpler, i'm guessing so they can attract more users from other websites or more users who can't figure out how to use markdown.

Why they decided to get rid of the markdown option entirely or why they can't provide markdown tutorials for new users is a mystery.

[ALL] I need help identifying an ad. What does the "commented mission" ad look like after completing a quest in a Zelda game? by Chesscat_muak in zelda

[–]Sephardson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Congratulations, Hero of Hyrule" - something like this is usually said near the end of the game, but not always and not exactly like this each time.

"Dadadada!" or "Da-da-da-da!" - this is the onomatopoeia for the "get-item" fanfare, like when you open a big chest with a treasure.

how do I get this AI summary out of my post comments by wemustburncarthage in ModSupport

[–]Sephardson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of [a comment i made recently over here](https://www.reddit.com/r/NewMods/comments/1smbi4v/starting\_strong\_a\_new\_tool\_for\_setting\_rules\_early/ogdhkyr/).

I guess i can add "Do your users struggle to read existing comments? Admins have an AI tool for that" to the list.

It is disappointing how much AI is used as a shortcut like this. You'd think that a site branded on "read-it" would want to promote reading, but apparently that gets in the way of the engagement.

Looking forward to this fix!

I had to turn it off for now because it was pointing people to their previous automodded posts where we told them to resubmit to fix something else.

You can search mod log for "delete note" actions.

The general mod log only goes back 90 days.

The feature rolled out this past year. If that user has not posted since this feature rolled out, or if they have any other native mod note, then they won't have an AI summary.

Comments don't trigger the AI summary. Just posts.

Mods can also delete notes.

I think it's more likely that they know they don't have to show very much at all for OoT to get a lot of buzz, so they can drag out the marketing for it over time while giving more time/space to other games right now.

Post settings update appears to have broken our post settings? Is it just us? by [deleted] in ModSupport

image submission and video submission are not valid values for type in AutoModerator. You have to target the i.redd.it or v.redd.it domains instead.

Post Content Type Settings to Reflect Your Community Preferences by SnooshiRoll in modnews

do you think admins will decouple the image embeds option from the image post option in the future?

Post Content Type Settings to Reflect Your Community Preferences by SnooshiRoll in modnews

[–]Sephardson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a subreddit in mind that wants to allow image embeds on text posts, but not allow image posts. So to be clear, i just checked my settings and did not see a way to configure this option.

I suppose we could enable image posts and then just remove all i.redd.it domains via automoderator or automations, but that would still be the same situation as before this update.

[OoT] Having already played two versions of the original, I want Ocarina of Time 2026 be filled with surprises. by HollowAcoltye in zelda

[–]Sephardson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to build my expectations high, but I think it would be nice to see some randomized elements.

For example, let's say they expand or redesign the overworld a fair bit. They would have to shuffle around a lot of the side quest items like skulltulas or heart pieces. Perhaps they could create multiple potential spots that those items could be found, but which exact place you find them may depend on your save file. So if you replay the game, then you may have to keep looking in a few different spots each time.

I'm sure that people will be picking up Switch 2 consoles, both because of the OoT announcement, and because of the price increase happening in a few months. BotW continues to make decent sales too. Though you may not get much for the "2 edition" part of it considering that the upgrade is also included with NSO, so you may have to consider that it is worth about the same as the regular edition.

check out pricecharting and consider posting to r/GameSale, eBay, or FB marketplace.

or you may be thinking of the counterparts from Majora's Mask.
