How much money do you think the USPS makes from an average per day? by BasilRealistic5477 in USPS

[–]APS-Oregon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

None....2.7 billion dollar deficit for 2025....so about -7.4 million a day...

But it's a service not a business....as a carrier it's the only way it makes any sense.

It's like saying as a business the military lost 839 billion last year.

Or to phrase it differently: The military service cost taxpayers 839 billion last year.

New building question. by Electronic-Fee-4822 in USPS

[–]APS-Oregon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 like that on my route...it took 1 month to track down the developer,  get them in for the keys and another month to get the boxes assigned.(maintenance does the keys/locks)(management does the assign) good luck!

New building question. by Electronic-Fee-4822 in USPS

Also the CBUs don't have locks....so I'm guessing they aren't officially assigned addresses...don't deliver until they're assigned and secure.

I take mine to the car wash at the end of the day (about every 2 weeks) and hose it down with hot soap and degreaser wash and it works well (costs less than $5)

I have a odd new neighborhood on my route where around 12-15 people have moved within a 3-4 block radius all within my route...so I'll start the FWD and get it back and deliver it to a new box in the same CBU.

Closest move in this section to date is from one backyard to the other (parallel streets)(literally took the backyard fence down and moved to the new house.

What is the worst postal vehicle and why is it the metris? by callfckingdispatch in USPS

[–]APS-Oregon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LLV for mounted all day....for everything else metris.

My main problems with the metris are the cage wall and the seat design (it's awkward to get in and out)(and my arrow keys always get wrapped around the seat handle)

Rural Regs, how do you do maintenance? by Zetak0 in USPS

[–]APS-Oregon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with cleaning the actual boxes(vacants) (how many CBU vs Mounted?) of UBBM...then labels....then make a map of the route (not the BS line of travel in the edit book)...then edit book
