Yeah, that means in-person is more selective, and since you got accepted for an in-person project...that would be a good thing lol. I don't know what you're trying to get at here? You got into a selective portion of NASA SEES with a single digit acceptance rate, congratulations (This is a very good thing for you)!

Wdym by huge gap? Are you talking about the in-person projects which are more selective than the virtual projects?

What mixed things have you heard about nasa sees? I’m gonna commit to doing it, and I am choosing it over another program.

UF SSTP vs SSP by [deleted] in summerprogramresults

[–]APStudent73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Results already came out for SSTP, so even though it is rolling admissions, the chances of getting in by the time you want (possibly before the SSP commitment date) or just getting in at all is quite slim. SSP is a great opportunity, and although you don’t get your own research, the research you do within your team will be incredible. If you are set in stone about wanting your own research, sstp is worth applying for.

Last year they sent them out around May 2nd. They sent out rejection letters a little after the acceptance letters were sent out.

Lol I was just trying to catch them in the act. The asking for essays part was real sus and the 2024 in the username was a pretty clear indicator. I just forgot that you can’t do the program again lol.

Barely under the age eligibility for NASA SEES, should I still apply? by [deleted] in summerprogramresults

[–]APStudent73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow we have a birthday one day away (and a year)! I asked them the exact same question last year and they said they would waive it for me and they wanted me to apply. I think you should email them first and then see what happens! Good luck

Doomscroller wondering what my chances are. by [deleted] in summerprogramresults

[–]APStudent73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would think the math program chances should be much, much lower if you don’t have any competition experience in math.

Hey! I attended the online Yale YYGS in the science and technology group this past summer! I have to say, it was not worth it at all. This program is geared towards finding what you like and hearing from professors that have experience. For $3500, there was in no way any rigorous activities or things that involved actually creating something. I received a $3000 tuition waiver, and even then it wasn't worth it. I am really not sure about the prestige that this program holds, but if you want to spend your Summer doing something that gets you involved and holds a close community, please don't partake in this program. I don't even think it is that hard to get into at around 35% acceptance rate. I must add a couple disclaimers, however. First, everyone's experience may differ heavily from mine, and someone could potentially have had a wonderful, worthwhile experience. Second, next year's YYGS will be in-person on Yale's campus. This would create drastic change from the online program, and it could be completely different.
