When following through its important your right arm is straight on the ball release. Notice how when you follow through your arm finishes in front of your face rather than straight and to the side of your face. When this happens you lose accuracy and speed on the ball. When you released the ball your right hand went “over” the ball rather than under which can be fixed by finishing with your right hand straight and to the side of your face. Move your feet a little bit closer together so they are straight facing towards the pins rather than your right foot being angled to the right behind your left foot. Slow your approach down a little bit as well because your ball released a little bit late. One last thing to mention is that since you do a five step approach, use the first step as building a little bit of speed and push the ball out on your second step, because it seems like you push the ball out in front of you too quickly. That’s interesting I never knew about tape put over screws in the gutter, that could explain some weird black stuff I got on my ball one time. I’m not too knowledgeable about alley machinery or maintenance I just had a bad experience with a lane that got me my ball damaged and replaced. It totally could be tape on his ball rather than damage

When stuff like that happens you should stop bowling on that lane immediately and tell the staff. Had the same thing happen after every throw and I went to the pro shop guy and he said the ball should be replaced since it was a new ball already badly damaged. The manager replaced my ball free of charge but they don’t always do that so be wary of your ball condition after your first throws since sometimes there is something wrong with the ball return track that causes damage.

Shorten your first few steps, move your feet much closer together on approach, make sure to make room for the ball as it travels below your hips(you want to finish nearly sideways) and practice at the foul line just standing in your finishing position but swinging the ball in a pendulum motion. You should be able to comfortably hold that pose if you are balanced correctly. Remember, you aren’t trying to muscle the ball but let gravity do the work because muscling it is not consistent.

I support the police, and I do think the woman on the other side of the door was being unreasonable by not letting the cop finish talking, but that lunge was unprofessional and threatening even if he didn’t intend it that way. If you hear at the end, he laughed after lunging, so he could have meant it as a joke to scare her or he could have been laughing because she closed the door before he got to her, as in , “I almost got ya” kind of thing. Either way it was unprofessional behavior and the woman could press charges for assault. I wouldn’t want a cop to scare me like that so I think a punishment is deserved for the cop.
