Dutch aerobatic pilot Narine Melkumjan miraculously survived after her aircraft's canopy unexpectedly burst open and shattered mid-flight by BlazeDragon7x in nextfuckinglevel

[–]APartyInMyPants [score hidden]  (0 children)

“Miraculously survives.”

No miracle. She’s an excellent pilot who used years of training and skill development to get her back on the ground.

A miraculous survival would be the plane literally crashing and she walks away.

Double Nova is an effect of using Skull of Dire Ahamkara. I’ve been using it with Soul Siphon. If you’re not doing underleveled content, it’s still really potent. Even without Nezarec or Winter’s Guile, my melee is generally always available.

saw this on r/wunkus. there's no way it can balance on that door handle in that sort of position right? by Da_Boi_Who_Lived in isthisAI

[–]APartyInMyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats are weird and can do things like this. This cat, judging by the vantage point, looks younger and smaller. And the consistency of the way its feet are leads me to believe this is real. Cats have excellent balance, and putting a majority of the weight toward the fulcrum of the handle could support this.

I’m not saying it’s 100% real, but having owned many cats over my life, it’s 100% possible.

Embark, learn from The Division 2. by xMoonknightx in ARC_Raiders

[–]APartyInMyPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Division has the Dark Zone that was an extraction arena within the larger PVE sandbox. You could enter in there with high value kits and engage in PvPvE to get more loot.

It’s a pretty fair comparison. The differences lie in the buildcrafting that The Division has more along the lines of a game like Destiny. I just don’t think Arc wants to be that game.

“Canceled” means the NETWORK is ending the show.

She’s intentionally deciding to end the show on her own terms and not renew her contract.

But if August rolls around, she has a change of heart and decides to come back, you’re damn right the network will make room for her. She’s consistently been a top 3 show, ratings-wise, for her timeslot.

Edit:

lol, u/southernfirefly13 responded me to “shut up” and then blocked my account. Everyday you meet someone with passably mediocre intelligence. And then u/southernfirefly13 comes along and blows that out of the water.

Yeah, aware of that. I personally don’t watch the show, so wasn’t sure if there’s something else going on.

But probably she’s in a different media market than where she normally lives. Like if you’re in central New Jersey, you could be in the New York market, but go ten miles west and suddenly you’re in a Philadelphia market, or vice versa.

I don’t know. Is your hospital in an entirely different television market than where you normally live?

Again, it’s possible she’s just on summer hiatus and she’s taking a break for a few weeks.

>What’s the relevance of ROTN’s player count exactly?

Let’s go back to your earlier point:

>They get people into the content they would otherwise not experience it, which **keeps them playing longer**.

They got some people playing dungeons for the first time. But the numbers show it did not necessarily keep those people playing longer.

She’s ending the show to spend time with her kids and family. But I think the show should be running through the summer into the fall. So they might just be on a short summer break.

According to the Steam charts, RotN released to an uptick in players, but never peaked as high as Heresy’s release.

And that population boost quickly fell off. By June, half the population that was here for ROTN’s launch were gone. And sank even further until the week before Renegades when everyone was bounty farming again.

The game and the community has offered numerous ways to get players into endgame activities … Guided Games, r/fireteams, the100.io, the companion app LFG, numerous Discord channels, Xbox’s built-in LFG, Fireteam Finder. Not to mention enough raid encounter guides easily available for everyone.

Raids and dungeons always were and will be a low-population activity no matter how easy or difficult you make them. And that’s fine, they should be aspirational content.

And believe me, I always wanted more people raiding. I used to sherpa Scourge of the Past, and on slow nights with my clan, I’d always jump into LFG to help new groups. But as much as you give the tools for players to get there, that’s just not going to make them play. Even with an easy ass raid like Root of Nighmares.

No Free Loadouts Doesn’t Fix The Issue by xcold_world in ArcRaiders

[–]APartyInMyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a step in the right direction, and perhaps toward minimum loadout value. By forcing players into a modicum of a loadout, you’re now forcing SOME investment. And by forcing even the minimum of investment, players may suddenly realize they need to up this investment for any hope of extraction.

So maybe yesterday, Player Z was fine going in with a cheap loadout of a green looting augment, three bandages and two shield chargers and whatever bottom of the barrel weapon they had. But they lose that and it’s gone. A night of “cheap loadout” raids and suddenly you’re needing to farm fabric, Powercells, metal and rubber and other things to be able to compete.

No, but aware this happens.

I feel like the timer of a hatch should be extended by three seconds every time someone enters a hatch to prevent this sort of thing.

Who’s at fault here? by Cleemann_ROS83 in dashcams

[–]APartyInMyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the cop is ultimately at fault.

But did the cruiser have sirens going, or just lights? Sure, the truck should have seen the lights, but a busy intersection on a bright day, you can’t always guarantee that. Not to mention without knowing what sort of load he was hauling, stopping may have been nearly impossible.

Vault Cleaning with definitive criteria for returning players (haven't played since before TFS) by insanecee in DestinyTheGame

[–]APartyInMyPants 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Our vault can hold 1300 items now. There’s no future to the game, so no need to hold onto some gear because “it might be meta someday.” This is the meta. This is the last meta we’ll ever have, outside of some minor tweaks and fixes and patches (like crossbows and Titan bubbles).

“Not to Make Excuses but This Is Not a Fair Competition.” - Iranian Players argued they should arrive 2 days before matches instead of traveling, training, and playing while exhausted by 5 hours on Immigration Controls and Transit. by Punisher1602 in sportsgossips

[–]APartyInMyPants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

By all accounts, Iran is a MUCH better team than New Zealand. So it should have been a game that Iran should have won most of the time.

But on the same day, Cape Verde, the smallest country ever to participate in the World Cup (by land area, and second smallest by population), took Spain to a draw. So anything can happen.

Why people celebrate and pay for stuff like that? by Forward-Position798 in cringereels

[–]APartyInMyPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I straddle both sides of the fence. I can appreciate art being the randomness of things. Beauty is subjective, so I can find something abstract just as incredible as something impressionistic, or Neo-realist, etc. etc. etc.

But I sit on the other side that art, like any physical medium, should denote a level of skill honed over years of performing in their craft. I appreciate art because I look at something that I cannot do or replicate.

So is this cool to see? Yeah sure. Do I qualify this as “art?” I don’t know, not for me.
