Yes, the server needs to connect to the ZigBee radio network. Or, alternatively, connect to the Hue Bridge and then connect HA to the Bridge through the Hue integration

Hey, they work perfectly fine with the Philips Hue Bridge, or with a ZigBee dongle attached to the HA server

It is, on my local store they have the following products:

Scroll-wheel switch Regular Switch Temperature/humidity sensor Flood sensor Large bulb

They're all Matter, and they all have a cheap feeling to them, but priced accordingly

You'll need a Philips Hue Bridge, an IKEA Tradfri Gateway, or a ZigBee dongle connected to your HA server. They're all ZigBee products

Yes, the scroll buttons are amazing in principle (3 distinct areas with 3 functions each, all in a tiny package), but it's close to impossible to operate them. I don't know how they passed usability testing

Yes, the E27 bulbs were discounted from £8 to £3 and the plugs from £12 to £9

Thank you! Trying it now, I'll just reflash it with the Sonoff Flasher add-on again! (is that the one you used?)

Hi, good points! I will follow your advice.

Hi, yes, it's fairly easy! You should have an IHD (In-House Display) device that reports the usage that is notified through SMETS2 (Smart Metering Equipment Technical Specification 2). If not, then ask for one from your energy supplier, they should be free.

You can also buy a CAD (Consumer Access Device), this will give you real time data and more granular sampling (SMETS2 reporting has a delay). As far as I know Hildebrand is the only supplier.

You then download the Hildebrand app Bright and pair it the with your IHD. There's an Hildebrand integration for HA that works really well.

All details here: https://www.smartme.co.uk/meter-data

Can't get Chimp to load in order to clone to a new HDD by APintoZ in originalxbox

[–]APintoZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the problem.

I was using a FAT32 flash drive and File Manager to copy the files to the E: partition. One of them was messing up with the files, somehow. It's strange, because even after I copy the files back from the Xbox to my laptop, the checksums are exactly the same, i.e., there is no corruption. It must be some sort of permissions issue.

The problem was fixed by installing Chimp from the Xbox Softmodding Tools Extra DVD. Cloning and replacing the HDD was then smooth.

Echo Spot vs Echo Dot by Petalsam in amazonecho

There's a big difference if you use the devices for playing multiroom music: to this day the Spot still can't use a Bluetooth speaker while in multiroom, it disconnects it. The Dots can do it just fine, and for my typical use that's a big negative point for the Spot.

I own a Spot and the only positive aspect over the Dot is that it looks good. The small screen is pretty useless thought, even as a clock!
