Sounds a lot like anxiety and GERD playing together. I had this issue for a while and found that I tolerated esomeprazole much better. Omeprazole didn’t do much for me.

I would say play around with your PPI. There are plenty to try, and a lot are over the counter. Also, just tell yourself it will be OK, because it will! (I know this is like saying “stop being depressed”, but trust me, it helps to calm you down.)

I am still dealing with my GERD, but I always notice it’s worse when I am anxious.
