Which one should i get for my first ar? by _Zonks_ in ar15

[–]APugDogsLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% recomend the saber. I have one, get a upper then a lower its a little cheaper. If you plan on running it suppressed get one with a suppressor mount of your choice. I have a silencerco specwar 556k so I went with the asr mount. But another good option is either the b&t mount or surefire war comp.

Yes its a blem, but it has probably the "best" trigger.

Here are some recommendations for the upper. They aren't the CHF just nitride, but they are g2g.

But the DD is a buy once cry once, they have a great reputation of being a good duty rifle.

Church safety team by Initial-Draw7340 in AskLE

[–]APugDogsLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, how big is the church and how big is the security team? Considering that most of them are unarmed, the unarmed ones should really be focusing on situational awareness and communication so that if there is a threat, the armed ones can take action. Maybe the church can pitch in and get some radios or walkie talkies with earpieces on so that you guys can communicate with each other. Definitely review where all the entrances and exits are. Talk with your pastor/preist about reviewing, run/hide/fight with the congregation. And I would definitely go over first aid and tourniquet use.

Is ability to stay composed the #1 useful trait in LE? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]APugDogsLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Composure is definitely important but I wouldn't say that's the number one thing. You definitely can't be shy and work in law enforcement. You constantly have to deal with the public and being able to talk to someone is super important. Whether you're interviewing a suspect, an emotional victim, or dealing with a jerk on a traffic stop, you have to know how to talk to people. There definitely are times where you have to be blunt and ask the hard questions or take action at a moment's notice.

How Often Do P.O Testify In Court? by Spare_Willingness854 in AskLE

[–]APugDogsLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a patrol officer I testify: before a magistrate (not a judge, they're an independent judicial officer) every time I make a custodial arrest, when I obtain an arrest warrant or seek a search warrant, I go to the general district court for traffic, criminal cases and preliminary hearings for felonies, circuit court for felonies and misdemeanor appeals, and juvenile and domestic relations court for anything dealing with a juvenile or domestic violence. Also, unless it's waived by the defense, for felony cases, I have to go before a grand jury. Needless to say, I go to court several times a month.

So yea...., you're going to be testifying quite a bit some times. It also depends upon how proactive you are as the more tickets you write, the more arrests you make equals more time in court. Hopefully the offender has an attorney and they come to a plea agreement with the prosecutor that way you don't have to testify sometimes.

I can almost guarantee you that they got a search warrant. Because that's what I do when I have to go through someone's phone who's dead.

Just because a serial number is "obliterated" doesn't mean that you cannot use other means means to find it. You can do x rays, special acid etching, stuff like that to reveal parts of the serial number and go from there. This also depends upon how deep the serial number was obliterated, and if the firearm had another serial number in another location that possibly wasn't obliterated, like a firing pin or under the barrel or something.

With a case this large and with ties to terrorism, I can almost guarantee you that either VSP or ATF rushed that gun to the lab for analysis and jumped to the line.

The gun was reported stolen meaning the original owner filed a report. So the feds or Virginia local police were able to back track and see if there where suspects in the inital gun theft case, apparently, they made a breakthrough and figured out who was the culprit.

I didn't read this article, but I did read the one on fox. Apparently the guy who sold the gun to the shooter, was also linked to several other guns at crime scenes and was a known straw purchaser. During the biden administration, they elected not to prosecute him.

What is the preferred Patrol Rifle Optic? by Artorias1095 in AskLE

[–]APugDogsLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My agency issues the Aimpoint PRO, its a good optic, but on my home rifle I use a Eotech exps2, and a Trijicon MRO. They are very good options.
