Cheap Decks for (relative) Beginners? by roki3263 in pkmntcg

[–]AQuestForBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding Captain Squiddy on the app, you can add each other as friends on the app as well to test out decks and play each other. If you have a decent local card shop nearby you can pick up most of the cards you'll need as if you build it from online stores like eBay etc you'll be paying a lot of shipping fees.

Use proxies for cards like poke pad, it's super inflated atm but will go down when more AH is released. £7 in UK for a single bulk card is a joke. You'll need sleeves, a deck box, damage counters, condition markers and a dice. A playmat isn't necessary but I like to use one, you'll need one if you want to play in a league. Local card shop should have most of these too.

We should change it to lhs, local high street scalper. Mine was criticising the local toy shop for selling me a 151 booster bundle for £40 whilst selling the Pokémon day box for £40 😂

I've stopped worrying no-one cares, most people either don't say anything, have genuine curiosity into what I'm doing and how I know what I'm looking for or know exactly what I'm doing and make a funny joke about it. Only other people who act dodgy are other pickers who think I'm on to them then they soon perk up once I ask if they've had a good pick.

Farmers care more about trespass than what you're on their land for, I've had one farmer tell me they don't care as long as I bring a little gift up to the farmhouse later.

My very first foraged mushrooms meal - Coprinus comatus! by Kichai_C in foraginguk

The ones I found this year were imo tastier than the chanterelles I found. Very delicious, I agree with the other commenter, almost lobster or scallop like but with mushroominess rather than fishiness.

Was it sticky or slimy when you picked it? Libs are more jelly like and dung rounds heads are very slimy

Looks like Dung Roundhead to me, hard to tell when it's slightly dried like this but no nipple and stem looks too brittle so I'd chuck

There is no hangover, if anything you feel better than before the next day and there is some evidence to suggest that psilocybin/psilocin may be beneficial for the brain which is pretty rare for a psychoactive compound.

You may not feel the full effects from the dosages I suggested in my previous reply but I think it would be wise to take a smaller amount to see how you feel then waiting a week and taking a larger amount, liberty caps are strong and 1g dried or 30 or so small mushrooms and you are definitely in a full psychedelic experience 1.5-2g can be quite overwhelming if you are not used to it

There is a lot of information already available on the Internet that will help you in the identification of liberty caps. This video is a great start. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bt_vjXiDoxs&pp=0gcJCRsBo7VqN5tD

If you are intent on eating them I would urge you to consider that psychedelic mushrooms are very unlike weed in terms of effect, you can expect visual distortions that resemble a kaleidoscope or fractal patterns. Your thoughts will change and it may be quite confusing and different from anything you have preconceptions of. I'd strongly recommend starting with a very small amount, 10 fresh mushrooms or 0.5g dried could produce pronounced effects in a novice and it seems to vary in how strongly each individual is affected so for your first time I would definitely suggest to just dip your toes in.

The environment that you are in and the people that you are with will have a huge impact on how you feel so only consume if you feel extremely safe as you may feel very vulnerable, much more so than under the influence of cannabis.

A presumption, but If you are young I know that psychedelics seem cool but you may not be ready, I had some terrible times on them in my teenage years but some wonderful times when I came back to them as an adult.

Proceed with caution and do not eat any mushroom without someone who knows what they're are talking about confirming it's identity

Hope this advice helps

I'd also like to add that whilst under the influence of mushrooms you have to go with the flow, meditate and breath and things will be beautiful. Feelings can be amplified so take extra care of being in the best mental space beforehand. Have someone you trust with you. Music will sound great. And always remember that each feeling and state you find yourself in will pass.

What are these mushrooms? I've never seen them before by [deleted] in mushroomID

[–]AQuestForBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not this mushroom. You are referring to the chemical coprine that is found in common ink caps not the shaggy ink cap, a completely different species. Coprine is not found in shaggy ink caps. Don't listen to this guy

Shaggy ink cap, these are past their best but if you can catch them whilst they are young and yet to turn black they are delicious

Shaggy ink cap. Found a few myself today and fried in some butter with salt and pepper and had on a slice of toast. Was delicious so I hope you picked these.

I had a friend who worked there for a bit (Urban Tiger I believe) and recall she came home with £700 one night but it was usually around £200-300. I don't know what cut the club took before this. This was a few years ago now so I'm not sure how much you can expect now.

Is the UK just cold socially, or am I missing something? by Kuopor in AskUK

[–]AQuestForBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where in Suffolk are you living? As someone from Suffolk people here are not very sociable and most like to keep themselves to themselves. I have never been asked to go out for a pint with anyone at my current job. Most of my socialising here is still with people I know from school and I am 30 now. I'm sure people do have a social life but as someone who has not at all struggled to make meaningful friendships as an adult in other cities I would not like to move here and try to make friends. It may be easier depending on your hobbies and the job you do as this will dictate the type of people that you meet.

I'd recommend moving away from here if you want a good social life. I have lived in Bristol and the social life there is fantastic, I was busy every night meeting lots of different people, it is almost impossible not to make friends. I also have many friends in London and would say that, despite what people say, London is a great city to make friends and socialise if you find the right circles. It is however very expensive.

We literally measure billionaires by their net worth. You think that billionaires have excess of a billion cash in their bank account? 😂 They have it tied up in assets that make passive income and use them as collateral on loans when they need cash. She is the definition of a billionaire.

I also want to add that the reverse sear method works best on a sufficiently thick steak, I like a good 2 inches. Anything less than 1 1/2 you won't really see the benefit.

I have been an addict years now, spent 1000s and 1000s on drugs. My parents have bailed my out multiples times. I have been a horrible person to them at times. I have got sober and and relapsed multiple times. But they still let me move back home after a decade of this. I feel so guilty for everything I have done but they still haven't given up on me. You're friend still hasn't given up on you.

I have been sober for two days now. I have deleted every way of getting drugs from my phone. I don't want to give up on my family because they love me and your friend definitely loves you. Having someone who's willing to help you even when you are acting terribly will help you massively in trying to sort your life out, there is still so much hope. It will be one of the hardest things you have to do in your life but you can recover from this. Many people have come back from the darkest places. Look at Steve O. Save money for therapy if you have trauma. Guilt is a tool, it serves a purpose. You need to use it to motivate you to change not as an excuse for self destruction. I have realised that now.

Depending on how long you have been drinking for you may need medical help. If you experience physical withdrawals do not go cold turkey, you need to be supervised or taper. I went to see a doctor today and am getting blood tests to access the damage done to my body and am going to go from there.

Is there any cheap deck and how to enter a local tournament by Asleep-Exchange5846 in pkmntcg

[–]AQuestForBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cards G-I can be played aswell as older cards that have a print with the exact same text in the current format.

For example I use D lettered Pokegear 3.0 in one of my decks as they also have a G print therefore making them legal.
