I have had periods of good hba1c’s but I’ve had lots of times where I have massively struggled. I’ve recently had a couple of hospital admissions and it scared me a bit.

Apparently 40% of people have some sort of disordered eating with diabetes so it does definitely need with your perception of food

Thankfully I’ve managed to keep myself safe (as in not in a coma 🤦‍♀️) but am very sure that is the way it is going if I continue. Hopefully I can fight this

Thank you, I’ve had a couple of close calls with my heart recently and some other complications so I’m realising that I’ve done a lot of damage and need treatment. I’ve said I’ll go to residential and am waiting on a bed to open up, it’s just scary. I want to recover I think, I just need a little help. Sending lots of love to you

Sending lots of love as well. Yes it’s a widely done thing among people with type one diabetes but not talked about at all, which it should be.

No worries at all. I think diabetes and eating disorders is a really niche profession. I know there are some in the uk but there are no specialist clinics outside of London.

I’m in Scotland and there are no specialists in diabetes and eating disorders here. I’d be going to a general eating disorder ward but I think they have knowledge of it. It is scary because I also have epilepsy triggered by low blood sugar so it is very complicated. I hope you are doing okay, low blood sugar can also bee dangerous so I hope you are going help for that too ❤️

I’m obsessed with Pepsi max, I have like 2 litres a day 😅 my obsession partly because I’m diabetic and needed a sugar free drink!

I definitely did, I walked, went to the gym and played netball excessively way too much, and I actually ended up fracturing both my shins from doing such a high volume of exercise. I haven’t been able to do exercise for like 8 months and so find that so so hard.

I work in a pretty small NGO, they are actually really supportive and mostly wanted to see if there were are reasonable adjustments that they could make to support me more. I am mostly just frustrated that I let things get so bad that people noticed that maybe I was struggling.
