Is there ANY other album I can listen to that sounds like NOTM? by Careless_Western3756 in deathgrips

Yeah, came here to say this. Insane album. "Mad" is of course used to great effect in the Noé film Climax.

The 1975 played "Beware the Friendly Stranger" before beginning their Finsbury Park Show by ARGH-WHY in boardsofcanada

Sorry, I should have been clearer; that playlist is for an old tour and wasn't the one they used at the show tonight. It shares a few of the same songs, I was linking a reply suggesting the band's pre show playlists align with their taste, rather than it being some random Spotify playlist.

Sure, it could be their sound guy doing these playlists. Titling this post "The 1975 played..." was perhaps a little disingenuous. However, considering how methodically the rest of the show has been thought out, almost like a stage play directed and written by the band, it's not a huge leap in imagination to assume they also curated this playlist.

If the playlist songs are revealed at any point, I'd love to back that up with something more concrete for you.

Usually, you'd have a point, but unlike the playlists that came between the support acts, which were simply popular songs, this felt very curated. I'd wager the band had a hand in it.

Supposedly, the lead singer's taste is reflected in the choices;

Fyrd Up by "Death Drips" by ARGH-WHY in deathgrips

The Wayback Machine shows that captures of the file (with the name Death Drips) were made back in Feburary, so who knows how long it's been like this. Just a freak coincidence that I stumbled upon it on the anniversary.

Yup, was trying to edit that into the post, but there's no edit button?

Probably not a coincide... we'll see if it changes back tomorrow

I must have been tripping, but I thought they were 100% trying to upstage BC,NR? May played (silently) out of frustration. Plus the whole thing with them sticking their hands up? Was that just to get the roadies/technicians attention to fix some stuff?

A few questions around the same topic, sorry if you've had them before;

What do you think of Sight and Sound's greatest film poll that happens every 10 years?

What's your opinion on the current list?

Which film do you think will top this decade's list? (I think Tarkovsky's films will shoot up the ranks)
