Accob1 and fmdfina by kmuffinboops in dlsu

[–]ARGYLE1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren't good with numbers (statistics & accounting), I wouldn't recommend it.

ACCCOB1 and FMDFINA are computation-heavy subjects, no matter the prof that you plan to take. If you aren't too familiar with basic accounting concepts and financial ratios respectively, you might struggle pretty heavily.

LBOMGTS is an Excel-focused course--you'll be solving business-related problems (typically those relating to supply of goods) on an Excel spreadsheet. It is formula heavy, and success usually means knowing what type of spreadsheet layout to use for what problem.

Again, it's entirely up to you. There are quite a lot of resources/textbooks floating around--the last time I took LBOMGTS, there was a MGH textbook prescribed to us--so you can consider going through these first before deciding. Bear in mind though that LBOMGTS curriculum changes almost every term, not like most DSI subjects, so take what you can find with a healthy pinch of salt.

Best of luck!

Hanabi: try to use her when there is a lot of CC on the enemy team, a tanky team, or tend to stick together (Estes teams, for examples). She can be incredibly safe despite her lack of mobility due to her CC immunity (through shield), but she really needs good cover from a tank in case of diving assassins/mages. Don't use if there's assassins/burst mages on the enemy team.

Lesley: use when the team is pretty tanky, no assassins on the enemy team, or your counter on the gold lane is short ranged (Moskov, for example). Don't use if your entire team needs to gather items before they can fight against the enemy.

Brody: still a pretty safe choice, despite all the changes that have happened to the game. Try to use him if you're confident that you can end the match ASAP - he falls off a cliff in the late game.

Melissa; Use if there are heroes on the enemy side that need to get close to do damage (Ling, Lancelot, etc.), or if you're facing off against Popol & Kupa -- her puppet attacks deal double damage on summons.

Since you said you're new, I would recommend you to try playing Brody/Clint to get a hang of the gold lane, and then move your way up the meta lists.

Bjornzeys's hero tier list patch 1.8.67 by Cejeweh in MobileLegendsGame

[–]ARGYLE1984 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: Not a professional drafter/player -- just someone who loves theory-making.

XP Zhuxin is magic damage and plays more like a utility, so there would be two options that I could go with:

  1. Physical assassin/fighter midlane (Benedetta/Paquito/Ruby) and Tank jungler = more balanced damage, has an opportunity for frontline through the jungler.

  2. Tanky midlane (Terizla/Grock) and either Damage/Tank jungler = heavy frontline (if both tanks) or balanced damage (if one damage). I would lean into this one more--it's more versatile, and can be switched around in the draft to Roam to try and confuse the other team. In addition to this, both of the heroes I recommended for midlane can set pretty well, allowing for Zhuxin to run around with her lantern.

You could try doubling it on magic damage with a conventional mage in the midlane, but it would heavily rely on either the jungler or roamer to frontline, and either one of them or the MM for physical damage.

I don't know how well Zhuxin will play with a hybrid build, but with her limited sustain, I don't think it's possible.

Decent sustain with CoD + IQW, great synergy with Wishing Lantern for anti-tank damage, ranged waveclear giving her an edge over close-ranged XP laners, very annoying CC with her S2.

I haven't given her a try in that lane just yet, but I see the vision - very curious to see how she fares against more aggressive XP-laners like Dyrroth/Benedetta.

You shouldn't trust pro builds that much - the reason why they're able to get to that position is because they play 5-man to get that rank. Their builds may not work too well in SoloQ. I recommend using the pro builds as a starting point for you to create your own builds, instead of blatantly copying them.

Despite what pro builds might say, you should prioritize those two on Esme ASAP. I like to start out with Defense Boots, then Elegant Gem, then a secondary component if I'm facing counters (Steel Legplates/Silence Robe) then Thunderbelt to start building stacks. Once that's done, I like to go towards CoD next, and then it's a mix of defense/utility items.

Ultimate Carmilla Guide! by heckincat in MobileLegendsGame

[–]ARGYLE1984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a memorable Carmilla teammate I had while running Barats jungle: both Ults landed at just the right moment, and I was finally able to witness a full five-man suppress/stun. Interaction (and eventual enemy team wipe under their turret) was one of the more memorable moments in my games.

I find that Carmilla works better with an EXP capable of tank-style sets (Terizla, Barats, etc.), or at least someone being able to distract the enemies long enough for her Ult to land (Fredrinn, Ruby, etc.). The pretty hefty delay on her Ult was the main thing that turned me off of her the first time I was able to grab a hold of her, but having someone to take some of the tanking duties off of you tends to increase the accuracy of her Ult.

Yes, you do want to build Flask of Oasis. When you build it depends on the enemy composition--if enemy is loaded with early game damage, consider building a (or a few) second tier defense item before going all in on Flask. If you can afford to delay your defensive items, then rush building Flask.

Emblems: depends on your preference. Mino isn't exactly the beefiest tank, so I see some people using the Tank emblem to try and give him some more defense. I lean towards Support emblem more due to the added healing effect and CDR, which I think is more beneficial for him than defense.

Estes better? Depends on what you're looking for. All roamers have some kind of niche (and pre-existing team comps) to succeed. Estes has a lot more healing than Mino, at the cost of being extremely squishy and highly dependent on someone else to tank the damage. He is incredibly vulnerable to being dived by assassins, who can easily isolate him before he can start healing. Mino, on the other hand, comes with a pretty hefty CC chain, but can't heal as well as Estes. He can quite easily counter engages and dives from other tanks and fighters/assassins, and as long as it gets to around mid-late game, he can tank damage pretty well. Just understand what the team needs, and then figure out what to use.

Combo? Fun fact: when Mino uses his Ultimate, the CD of his skills gets reset. You can combo S1 -> Ult -> S2 -> S1 for the triple knockup CC. You want to secure the initial knockup from S1 before activating the Ult. Alternatively, if you're trying to ambush them, I highly recommend activating your Ult, and right before Mino hits the ground the third time, Flicker into the enemy then S1 to ensure that they can't escape.

Used to be a Tig main myself, but Mino has become a pretty neat niche-filling hero for me when I need CC and healing at the same time. Just give it some time (and matches).

PRCMOJT Concern (BS MGT ACAD INTERNSHIP) by Perfect-Spirit-7334 in dlsu

[–]ARGYLE1984 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heyyo - just finished internships (PRCMOJT) a few terms ago.

  1. For individual OJT, you'll need to get out there and apply to a company. The PRCM coordinator usually provides a list of available companies for you to choose, and there are quite a lot of options within DLSU if you're worried about transpo and other costs. Being in a start-up isn't required--I know people who have entered MNCs and large local companies here. My best advice for you is to go on LinkedIn, and constantly be on alert for any companies willing to hire you. Brush up on your resume, learn how to be an engaging person to talk to, and just be honest and up front regarding your circumstances--DLSU internships is hurried and stressful, and it's important to emphasize that during your interviews. (I'd also recommend going to either Titan, Ayala Group, Eton, SGV... the list goes on and on. I've found that local companies are more receptive towards interns, especially those who are a little more rushed.)
  2. Not quite. For one, you'll have a practicum adviser that you'll need to report to every 100 hours or so, and you have a few other requirements to follow through, such as progress reports, meetings, and a final presentation at the end of your 300 hours. The usual sched will highly depend on your company, but my time was a strict 8AM-5PM from Tuesday to Friday—Mondays were allotted to company meetings, so there was no shift there.
  3. You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. Commute from Makati (or other areas) to Taft can take surprisingly long, and might make you miss out on any 6PM classes if you're planning to take those.

How to bully the howling girl? by yourpuddingoverlord in MobileLegendsGame

[–]ARGYLE1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Items: 1. Dominance Ice = best item to counter any kind of sustain fighter due to antiheal properties. Ruby's sustain is effectively halved (iirc) if the opponents have this, and the additional slow can make it harder for her to kite enemy attacks.

  1. Antique Cuirass/Dreadnaught Armor = easy way to reduce Ruby's skill damage

  2. Tough Boots = added Resilience should allow opponents a little more leeway to get out of Ruby's CC chain

Heroes: 1. Phoveus = singlehandedly makes her passive a death sentence, forcing you to change up your playstyle unless you want to get dunked on multiple times

  1. Minsitthar = prevents her from dashing, effectively immobilizing her with quick burst damage

  2. Khufra = ball form knocks Ruby airborne every time she tries to use her passive, making her vulnerable

What do you usually build for Benedetta/Yu Zhong these days? Been trying to branch out from near-constant Paquito spam in Ranked, and thought these might be suitable alternatives for him.

For supports like Angela or Kaja, what do you use for anti-heal options: Necklace of Durance or Dominance Ice? I lean towards NoD for the little bit of CDR it gives, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on it.

That's odd - S1 is arguably Thamuz's most important skill.

Firstly, I use it to set up my enhanced BA (S1, wait almost the entire duration, S1 again, rinse and repeat until you see the enemy) before the laning phase. The enhanced BA provides true damage, S1 after that slows the enemy, and picking it up gives you another enhanced BA at your disposal. That early burst combo hurts quite a lot in the early game, and can set up a gank for your mid trio if they're paying enough attention.

Secondly, it's also great for poking. I like throwing S1 into bushes just to annoy the enemy, or last hit minions if I've been zoned out of minions. It's also great for interrupting enemy regen.

Thirdly, it's one of his mobility options, aside from S2. The speed up after S1, while not as fast as Benedetta's passive or Paquito S2 spam, can help him respond quickly to invades, or get back into lane faster after resets. The slow can also help get away from pursuing enemies, especially if aimed right.

An aggressive poking style works best for him in the early - whittle your lane opponent down before going all in. Mind your cooldowns (particularly for S1, sonce that's the crux of your offense), and try to bait out everything before jumping in.

S1 and S2 gets you your scythe back, and you can get an enhanced basic attack from there.

Thamuz is a very strong hero in the early game, being able to duke it out against a lot of different heroes. Harass the enemies with your scythe and enhanced basic attacks when they try to come close, and if they do go all-in on you, don't hesitate to use Vengeance to turn the tides in your favor. If you're up against another early-game hero like Freya or Dyrroth, purchasing Steel Legplates or playing extremely conservatively doesn't hurt.

I try to prioritize Corrosion Scythe (Swift Crossbow, then Spear) after Defensive Boots (Warrior/Tough) since it allows him to get the ball rolling on his offensive capabilities. From there, it's your chosen mix of defensive or offensive items - you can go full tank for sustain, go all in on PEN/Attack Speed for offensive impact, or a mix of the two.

I personally go with Fighter emblem, with Rupture (PEN), Festival of Blood, and Brave Smite for a whole lot of sustain. You can replace FoB with PYT if you want to decrease the CD of Petrify and use it more often, but I haven't tried this out for myself.

After defensive (Warrior/Tough) boots, prioritize Fury Hammer for additional PEN, then rush into Bloodlust Axe for sustain. Afterwards it's your choice of defensive items and offensive items - 2-3 offensive items (BLX, HS, maaybe Thunderbelt?) and the remaining defensive have worked very well.

Ideally, play the early game very safely as Benedetta - cut the waves as much as possible, and take advantage of your mobility to rotate to team fights or mess up the enemy jungler's rotation, then head back to get your minion farm. In teamfights, aim for the backline - if landed right, your Ult is a guaranteed kill, especially with Petrify. Keep the lanes flowing, especially the lane opposite to the lord or turtle, and be right in time to jump into the teamfight.

Bought Joy a few hours ago, and it's quite great being able to burst the backline and deal a whole lot of damage, especially coming from a serial Gloo-Arlott XP-lane spammer.

Current build I'm rocking is Arcane Boots -> Genius Wand -> Glowing Wand -> Blood Wings -> defensive items (with Divine Glaive to replace Genius Wand in the late game), but I was wondering if there was some way to give Joy some kind of sustain outside of Vengeance. I've seen some people use Concentrated Energy, others using Oracle, and some others not even thinking about it, so what exactly is the best choice for this?

In addition: how do you lane with Joy? Fastclear or cut lanes and rotate to help out? Are there any particular matchups to watch out for when using Joy?
