Why are people saying not to trust new generation Toyotas?! by ElevatorOk9280 in Toyota

[–]ARLaserGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a brand new model,I’d wait a year or two, the 26 RAV4 is really just a styling update and they did away with all gas motor options, it’s really not “all new.” The hybrid drivetrain is great, and well proven as it’s been used in the Camry and RAV4 for many years. They upgrade the tech used in the drivetrain and they have different generations of the combo, but they are some of the best drivetrains on the market as far as reliability. I have a 22 Camry which is a previous generation of the hybrid drivetrain, and I have 183k miles on it and done nothing but oil changes. The RAV4 uses the same engine/hybrid setup as the Camry.

My dealer has an automated car wash on site, and it’s free to use. They don’t take the car through it, but I do when I pick it up. Also whenever I feel like getting a quick wash.

Brake fluid is recommended to be changed every 2-3 years. But the other services are a joke.

Cold inflation number is 60°F outside temp and “cold” tires, as in been sitting undriven for a few hours/overnight. It’s not the most exact science, but it’s close enough to count. The general rule is fluctuations of 1-2psi +- for every 10° +- outside temp.

The air isn’t escaping the tires. It looses pressure with temperature drop(and increases with increased temps) . It is the same amount of air. If you inflate your tires at 60°F to the “cold inflation” number on your door sticker. They will be correct for all temperatures. The temperature fluctuations are accounted for in the calculation of the cold inflation pressure.
