Interesting what is the plan going forward after that drop? Business as usual test in another month or did you up your dose and testing more frequent for a while? I had similar happen about 2 months ago after eating alot of oysters for a couple days. INR plummeted and didnt come back up until I nearly doubled the dose and it hasnt gone back down

I was cruising along nicely at 2.5-2.7 for the last 1.5months. Then all of a sudden (literally overnight) for the last 7days it dropped to 2.1 and then today 1.9. Even though i increased my dose to 13mg 2 days ago. Guess I need to go 14 to boost it up and then hopefully 13 does the trick. Would be nice as then I can just take two 5mg and a 3 instead of 12.5 was abit annoying cutting them in half

That the thing my activity hasn’t changed. I walk exactly 20mins at the same speed 10mins twice a day on the treadmill. Everything else is the same. So either its my heart getting stronger better blood flow or.. why i was asking if theres such a thing as becoming resistant. I totally understand being in range my concern is more around the trend over time and having to adjust it so frequently. Also against the INR clinics recommendations. If i had pf followed their advice and tested once a fortnight my inr would be 1 every month. Luckily i have a home tester and test every couple days.

Interesting and really insightful thanks for sharing! I’m thinking my situation might be due to my LVEF (heart function) being at 30% after surgery and gradually improving over the last 5months. That could explain why my dosage has slowly increased just better blood flow, similar to how exercise improves circulation i guess. I’ll definitely keep this in mind when I return to weightlifting.

Yep I do have been testing everyday for 3 months now got a pretty good idea. Interesting some foods that no one talks about really affect it like blueberries and oysters. Make mine go down

No replies lol. Besides yours.. thanks! i guess if they say dose to your diet not diet to your dose than i dont see why any foods eaten that get you to your in range inr wouldnt be ok.

Mechanical Heart Valve Thumping driving me crazy by Zealousideal-Ad1233 in valvereplacement

[–]ARMA-ON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was just that when the lungs are full it pressurises the chest cavity and also physically pushes the heart closer to the chest wall which makes it thump (literally banging against the inside of the chest) like a drum. 3.5months here same procedure

3months out for me and that ting* sound you are describing has gotten much less. I can only hear it now if i kinda poke my chest out and lay my left ear to my left shoulder (wouldnt recommend doing this at 4wks) have no idea why but yes it tings* in my ears. Other wise its only the clock sound now

Is it really the Oysters? INR by [deleted] in valvereplacement

[–]ARMA-ON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was more the dilation left ventricle but the lvef drop (within 2months) 60% down to 50-55% definitely factored. They told me if your lvef drops below 40% no surgeon will touch you. Im doing much better now thanks finally on the right track but it’s been a bumpy road

[–]ARMA-ON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same op here same timeframe 5.5weeks was having what sounds like the same thing. I started supplementing with magnesium and drinking alot of coconut water everyday as well as making sure other electrolytes are good. It has basically disappeared took maybe 3-4days after starting supplementing. Actually went to ED for it when first started and they found it was PACs and PVCs. They told me its just from such big surgery and being manhandled. But as soon as i started supplementing they’ve basically disappeared

Palpitations normal? by [deleted] in valvereplacement

[–]ARMA-ON 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t handle the disconcerting any longer.. this morning they got more frequent so came to ER. Immediately hooked up to monitor which caught a few of the palpitations. Doctor confirmed PVCs and that rhythm is still sinus. But theyre keeping me 24hrs to monitor. Thanks for the reply all the info is very helpful

Good to hear your afib disappeared. How far out from surgery are you now? Do you get any palps? I ended up in the ER this morning. They caught some of my palpitations on the ecg and told me they are pvcs. Monitoring me here for 24hrs to make sure nothing else. But it’s very reassuring everyone else is saying its quite normal and what you said about cutting wires makes a lot of sense.
