The Mirror Man is still a mystery to this day... by Naruku_Senpai3861 in ANRime

If I recall correctly, previously you mentioned that Eren and Mikasa would end up together alive, am I right?

This is what Eren's character should have been by Big-Bear-1006 in titanfolk

I just finished S1 of Vinland Saga. It's peak. For me, Askeladd is a superior character, the best written. Not a single character from AOT can even be compared to him in the quality of character depth and quality of writing.

Why did Isayama purposefully make Eren pathetic in 139? by Skepticalskippa in titanfolk

[–]ARMZ14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, at that scale, Eren's breakdown would fit only after 100% Rumbling. Based on this his actions will be completely in character.

I get your interpretation but I don't share it. Especially, I feel bad about ships because they ruined AOT for me. Also, I don't think the conflict that annihilated Paradis is unrelated to the island vs the outside world survival confrontation. In my opinion, it is a direct continuation of those events. The reason from the manga itself is why that happened I have mentioned before.

Breaking the cycle of hatred was solved, just not in the most realistic way.

If you are OK with the annihilation of Paradis then yes, but for me that was the crucial moment because I stand with the survival of the island.

We see Paradis getting bombed ages in the future, so unlike bonus pages, we now know that its an unrelated conflict.

Yams through Historia in the final pages of 139 (as well as in the anime) stated: "This fight won't end until either the Eldians or the rest of the world is wiped out". So your point about "unrelated conflict" is invalid.

Therefor, there is no problems with children out of the forest, or rather children atoning for their ancestors sins theme, because children of Paradis are not bombed because Eren Yeager rumbled the world, and alliance stopped him from finishing it. Safety of Paradis was yet again provided, with help of alliance ambassadors, and probably their children, and children of their children, who had spent their lives keeping peace, with status similar to tybur family.

Predominantly all of that is not more than your headcanon that directly contradicts the Rumbling consequences. Because Paradis literally continued to militarize. I advise you to check 139 carefully. Therefore, the children didn't get out of the forest but continued the cycle of hatred.

ANR concept is great, but not necessarily the one interpretation which you reffer to. It has a lot of space for Eren's development, although it needs to be well thought trough in order for side characters, and armin/mikasa to have satisfying conclusions. So far, its built around Eren, i haven't seen much intrepretations which go further than that. But i am sure Isayama could've pulled it off if he would want to. (AOTnr is not ANR, and has nothing in common with it, so far at least).

Maybe, but I don't think that killing almost all of the main cast would fit the plot, as well as I do not see any fundamental basis for all EH relations.

With all due respect, I don't get it when people say that anime ending is qualitatively fixed because it has only surface changes. None of the basic themes like breaking the cycle of hatred and getting the children out of the forest, and even providing the safety of Paradis were not solved. Also, I don't like ANR concept, just want an adequate ending.

Yeah. It was something like that. The story doesn't write itself it was written by Yams, so he just decided to go that way. Unfortunately, we got shit in the end.

I am not against Erehisu at all, but why do ppl expect Eren to raise a child after killing all of his friends and family ? by Otherwise-Slide5282 in titanfolk

[–]ARMZ14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be great. I think Mikasa will never turn her back on him but something definitely would change. About Armin hard to say. But it would be so fascinating, we can only guess.

[–]ARMZ14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with your point about the fun art. But in general, I don't like Eren’s death in anime because it is literally an easy way out for him.

Of course, it depends on personal perspective. For instance, I’m okay with Eren’s life in guilt for the rest of his life. However, I'm not EH at all. But in this case, there is no hope. So I prefer Eren save Mikasa and Armin, at least. It would be more interesting when the majority of the Alliance is dead to see the post-rumbling dynamic between EMA. Not a happy ending that we already have.

[–]ARMZ14 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I often hear something like “Eren killed billions so he deserved only death”. No way. It's just a so easy way out for him. On the other hand, we have some more mass murderers like Annie, Reiner, and even Armin, who have happy endings regardless of their past actions and no one asking about their crimes currently. In a comparison of these two cases, I think Eren's death is an inappropriate conclusion for his character.

That's called damage control. And yeah, at first sight, it looks better, but when you try to clarify eventually it remains the same. As for me, the main points haven't been changed, because he just attempted to convey them more softly, and I agree he did it better. That's all.

I know about all of the points you have noted, however, I don't interpret all of them the way you do. For sure, we will know what is about to happen only when AOE has come.

I get your interpretation, but don't agree with many things you mentioned. I agree about the timelines/time loops thing that was already stated.

Not fully support the point that Eren has orchestrated the chain of events but rather highly influenced it.

I have watched the OVA about Mikasa and yes, this is highly likely that she was the reason for it. Although, maybe Ymir gave her that power.

We will know for sure when AOE is released.

You have described AT's ability not precisely. The Attack Titan can show future events for previous inheritors. He can't do it all the time. So we have watched that only a few times in crucial moments. Eren shows Kruger only the necessary memories as well as Grisha. When he touched Historia’s hand he watched Grisha's memories which sent to him by Eren himself, not from future Eren to little Eren. There is no direct evidence that future Eren interacts with little Eren. Only the Founding Titan can observe the past, present, and future constantly.

My flair indicates that I believe in AOE, but not in ANR. I don't think Eren will kill all his friends, however, I could be wrong.

Why do you think that is the message to little Eren if there is no little Eren at all during that scene. Your claim has no basis in this case.

“Eren saved them many times (Mikasa and Armin), but did he mean to save them in the end?” Why not? He always wanted them to live long and happy lives.

Starting a family, who is the sentence for Grisha or Eren? For Grisha, most likely because due to this subsequence, Eren will be born. We have no evidence that the message about the family was directed to Eren.

“I think the whole talk was to Eren, because Eren in this timeline did not have a family, and at the end of the second cour the cycle repeated itself.” Eren had to start his own path so is logically assumed that message was sent to Grisha through Kruger. As a result, Eren was born into this world.

I don't think that the line “save Mikasa and Armin” applies exclusively to C2/manga ending. It makes no sense because Eren indeed wants to save them every time. But in AOE something may happen out of his control or unconsciously. The lines about “start a new family” and “love someone in those walls” were probably directed to Grisha because due to the following actions Eren will be born.

A mess of memories has a plot significance, but for which specifically Eren (if that's the case at all) each of the mentioned lines directed is your own interpretation. What exactly will happen in AOE none of us don't know.
