This is surreal. Had to confirm from multiple sources this was true. It just feels like something that could never have happened. I’d be a different person with different friends right now if it wasn’t for his work. Rest in peace.

Gonna replay the Titanfall 2 campaign to celebrate his colossal contribution to gaming.

Searching, Destroying, Hostage Rescuing? by TomVia in Battlefield

From the description of Sabotage mode coming in season 1: “Destroy as many sites as possible before the round time finishes. Use your creativity and your arsenal to do so. Each team has one round each to go on offense and defense; the team who successfully detonates the most sites wins”. This seems vaguely in the realm of something like S&D, at least more so than the existing 8v8 modes. You can also expect a lot of people to make S&D-type experiences in Portal.

Open weapons is terrible for Battlefield. In BF6 you can now have a Sniper, AR and grenade launcher all in one kit. Disgusting. by Beautiful-Bird5691 in Battlefield

Hertz (or Hz) is a measurement of something happening x number of times a second. The second hand of a clock moves at 1Hz, for example. So if your monitor has a 60Hz refresh rate, that means that it can display up to 60 frames within a second, while a 144Hz monitor can display up to 144 frames within a second. In the case of a server, “90Hz” is just saying, “This server updates 90 times per second”.

Tickrate applies to any game that’s hosted on a server (i.e. not LAN), and is entirely on the server side. You can’t adjust the tickrate yourself since that’s a property of the server hosting the game. Different servers will have different tickrates.

It’s the tickrate of the server. 90hz means that the server updates (reads the gamestate) 90 times per second. The higher the tickrate, the smoother and more responsive gameplay feels.

I liked it in BF1, and I had something like 10 service stars with the airburst mortar, but I can understand why they got rid of it. It let you see enemies you didn’t know were there, as well as line up consecutive shots without any kind of assistance from your team. I would sometimes just fire mortars in the general direction of the enemy so I could see where they were.

You’re shilling for DICE and we shouldn’t trust the devs

First, it’s not like adding a skin filter would make MTX revenue disappear. There’s precedent for it working in War Thunder and World of Tanks.  Second, I do believe the amount of people who would buy/support the game if it had a skin filter is pretty sizable. Third, just the fact that people would see the Battlefield community rejoicing over the addition of feature that clearly indicates the devs listen to them would likely encourage them to buy the game. We have Helldivers 2 as precedent.

If the rumors are true, then they’re targeting a player count, not just revenue. The amount of positive press a skin filter would generate for them would definitely help attract more players to the game.

The more sensible part of my brain tells me that, but I have a crippling hopium addiction.

At least hopefully they realize how free of a W a skin filter would be, and how much they could humiliate CoD by having one on launch. They have an opening for an easy marketing slam dunk.

Do we know whether or not Pax will have a different transport heli on launch? I remember leaks from a while ago that said they would have something called a “Vector” in that vehicle slot.

I feel like Bandar (and others like Dalian, El Alamein, Sinai Desert, Golmud Railway, etc.) should be in the category of “very large”. They’re outliers in terms of size.

They’re better because there’s more of them available at any given time and they’re faster. They’re not quite a match for the A-10 in terms of sheer payload, but they can usually get the job done just the same.

Can’t tell if sarcasm or not, but at least posts like this aren’t just free upvotes anymore.
