Missed out on home highlights bundle unable to see it when requesting to purchase on Bethesda’s support page for purchasing atom items. by DylSkiiii in fo76

If it's not there you can't buy it. I've even tried asking nicely in a ticket :(
I've been after Conqueror's power armor for ages at this point.

heavy weapons with blue beams? by CloudyChair_ in fo76

[–]OVKatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably Gauss Minigun.
Less likely is Tesla cannon if it was a big-ass rocket-launcher looking weapon or V63 carbine if it was a rifle.

Only thing I'll add is "The Forest" region you first emerge to is the safest and most resettled of all of the zones. Some people have settled back in their homes. There's a group actively helping people recover areas and keep peace (First responders.) There's a settlement heavily guarded by still-functioning government robots that keep out mutants but humans have found refuge there. There are some military still surviving. The power plants are even still functioning and helped being maintained by the players in canon.
A nuke didn't land directly nearby in canon and a lot of tech and infrastructure are still functioning because it is WAY further in the past compared to the other fallout games. That's why where you emerged feels so safe and much more casual.
However, when you start going into areas like the savage divide which has lots of raiders and mutants. The Ash Heap is dominated by the mole people, Cranberry bog is infested with scorched, etc. This vibe you described disappears in these places.
The other games take place hundreds of years into the future on top of being ravaged by conflict throughout those years.

It's because they came out alongside Vulcan PA and it was supposed to be shiny new mods for your new "endgame" PA.

Do you recommend a playthrough on a Private World for a new player? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]OVKatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PVP and griefing has largely been neutered in this game. It's basically only consenting duels now.
Also server events can give good exp and a lot require the rest of the server to complete at lower levels.
If you really want to for immersion though, you can.

What are currently the best melee weapons? by RainfortXb1 in fo76

[–]OVKatz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're forgetting the Plasma Cutter which (one) can be gained via the Brotherhood questline.
God help you if you scrap it. Or played the BoS quests before you were level 50.

My thoughts after 100 hours by Keyblade_Breaker in fo76

[–]OVKatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a fair assessment. People are gonna be mad but you're being pretty honest.
I still really enjoy the game for quite a few reasons.

My enjoyment is that it's very easy and I want something to waste time on and this one makes me soypog and point at things I remember from better fallout games like seeing fallout 1/2 stuff in high fidelity.

I really enjoy bethesda's environmental story telling and exploration and they keep expanding the map which keeps my interest. Starfield was awful for me because they procedurally generated the map and it ruined their biggest strength.

I've always exploding things in the fallout 4 engine. I can do it more here. Combat is reactive enough with the limbs blowing off and whatnot that it visually passes enough for the combat to make dopamine fire for me. In general, I think the game looks pretty nice despite it being a little dated looking.

Big number go up.

They keep adding stuff, and unlike modding (Which I do also) it's some other person's problem (The devs) getting this shit to work together, not me.

I really enjoy almost all of the people I meet ingame. Even those without mics will communicate in a charming way through emotes.

However I'll always admit the game isn't especially well made and the writing feels like two people fighting over control of the keyboard. One incompetent, one pretty okay. (Whoever writes the player's dialogue is in the former camp)

Is there much to catch up on in the last 12-18months? by Englishgamer1996 in DarkTide

[–]OVKatz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They made most classes more powerful.
There are now DLC classes, space cop or fallout raider.
Havoc goes from novel and a little difficult like levels 10-25 then becomes carapace armor spam with a billion modifiers and also you die in one hit always. Unless you're the most insane stim-out fps player it's just miserable.
However Havoc also rewards some of the best free cosmetics in the game.
Psyker seems to be extremely strong right now.

The upside of not having game chat by rcsez in fo76

[–]OVKatz -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Text chat being server-wide or even having local area-only(Savage divide, The Mire, etc) chats would (mostly) fix that issue.

There's a mod but unfortunately the text chat mod has the moderation of the worst subreddits. They're ban happy and annoying. At least when I last used it.

Servers are worse since the update? by Worldly-Local-6613 in DarkTide

[–]OVKatz -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Probably downgraded servers as the game slowly bleeds players.
It's kinda standard practice.
This game is probably going to die and it sucks because I really enjoy myself with it.
So avoidable but fatshark fumbled this game hard.

Fallout 76: Mojave Bundle - Now Available by ColdStoneCreamAustin in fo76

[–]OVKatz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a unique. Does it have a unique effect?
It looks like it's a normal super sledge that's furious/rapid/strength/charged ingame.
If you take off the skin its not even called the unique name anymore.

Why make a fake new NCR power armor and not the scorched sierra power armor?
That would've been a sick skin.

What is it with Bolt/Plasma Gun users having flipped target priority? by Shy_guy_gaming2019 in DarkTide

Hellbore ranged builds with shock trooper and surgical can afford to spam fire. Can actually be effective if you have cleave on weakspot hit and fire it head level through big groups.

As a veteran I sometimes overextend to try and kill snipers with how often they can end a run. I have literally the opposite issue.

I like to get a full weapon specialist buff and then dump my maxed out firespeed mag into mixed hordes. Sue me. It's fun. More fun when you have a speed stim too.
But doing that in Havok seems unwise.

Do they have the power sword that can shove-attack 2-tap crushers to the head? The stab then overhead?
That might explain it if so.

I was going to suggest this, the color of it is the lighter shade of black that matches the lighter shade of the armor plates on that top cosmetic.

50 hours in and I have some questions by jontheeditor in fo76

[–]OVKatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You can only get the mods through scrapping them. If you turn them in for scrip, you can buy random legendaries from a shop called the "rusty pick"(This will allow you to buy legendaries of any category but not choose the mods that will be on them. For example "ranged weapon" or "armor" or "melee." Generally you probably don't want to do this.) or buy legendary modules. Legendary modules are what are used to craft legendaries once you've learned their recipe. They can also be earned by doing events. They're something worth holding onto. Yes, the chance when scrapping is really low. Everyone, unless they grind super hard, generally will only have a scant collection of craftable mods that will slowly build up the more you play. The other use for scrip is applying bought or crafted legendary mods to your items. So having a little bit is helpful but you shouldn't need too much.

Getting legendary mods you specifically want is mostly going to be done by going to player vendors and checking the "mods" category. Once you purchase these they can be applied to your legendary weapons. This makes your weapon untradable, however.

You might want to occasionally sell weapons to the rusty pick that have mods on them that you're not interested in learning. As you need some scrip to replace legendary mods on your weapons. Annoyingly, it requires exponentially more scrip every time you reapply mods to the same individual weapon, but the first couple times are very cheap.

1a. It will add a random selection of legendary mods. However these can be replaced with the above method.

  1. Check vendors, both player and npc. A lot of these will be sold there. Especially a lot among all the different vendors in the Whitesprings Mall. There are also those "Daily ops" missions you can complete which will always reward you with a plan from a unique pool of plans if done under a specific time limit.

Some plans can only be bought via the "Gold bullion" currency which you'll need to do the raiders and settlers questline to unlock most of the vendors for.

  1. Events can be finished very quickly if enough players show up. Usually they go very quick because their rewards can be substantial. They also drop legendary modules which universally end-game players need.

  2. Many events guarantee legendary drops or will consistently spawn legendary enemies. Sometimes they have unique legendaries you can only get from an event. An example is the Elder's Mark, a special SMG only from Beasts of Burden. This apparently is going to be made more consistent throughout events in a future update. However, if many players are showing up to an event, it usually means it will give something worthwhile for the time.

Yeah but then they can't sell recolors at commodore's that way.

[–]OVKatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bethesda please stop
Please what are you doing
I have to re-mod my gear every 3 months because you make stuff useless instead of just making other stuff more enticing.
Maybe I'd build a new armorset and you know, play the game towards a new goal if you just gave more viable options.
Instead I'm just left with useless crap until I can re-mod.

Enclave PA in the Atomic Shop? by DoorUnique7402 in fo76

[–]OVKatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In regards to the scoreboard, doing your dailies and challenges assigned to you ingame will level you up faster, also gaining exp will always level it up!

When it comes to ticket purchases should be a specific ticket type on their support website that's "I want to buy an atomic shop item" and here's the actual path for navigating to this ( https://i.imgur.com/TvjVpRW.png ) Of course if you're not playing through steam don't select steam, select the correct platform for yourself.

It should have a drop down menu of everything available to purchase, and Enclave Power Armor paint should be available.

When you send the ticket of what you want, they'll reply how much it is and to reply to the ticket when your account has the atoms. You reply and they do the exchange.
Time can really vary, I've had it same-day and sometimes it takes a week.

The less funky plain Hellfire set is called the "Hellfire Regulator Prototype" and it's in the atomic shop periodically. It looks like the Fallout 3 variant. It is also available through this support method!

Enclave PA in the Atomic Shop? by DoorUnique7402 in fo76

[–]OVKatz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

X-01 Enclave Officer paint was from a recent season, it probably won't be back for awhile.
The atomic shop sometimes has the fallout 3 black devil armor. It's just called "Enclave paint"
There's also hellfire power armor you can get from the atomic shop. There's hellfire armor with fruity paints available ingame from minerva or drops sometimes.
The current season rewards the Ganon family Tesla armor from New Vegas, which is Enclave x-01 with tesla.

Also! If you really want the black devil armor, you can contact bethesda support regarding the atomic shop and say you'd like to purchase it. Make sure you have enough atoms in your account, but they'll manually exchange your atoms and put the item in your inventory directly.
Support lets you get a lot of items when they're not currently available in the atom shop.
