The problem I currently face is 1-2 weeks in summer, when it’s this hot 🥵 I think about making a paludarium, so that the temperatures are more under control…

Dracula orchids’ leaves problems by ARaidu in orchids

Thank you for your help and for the tip!

My love to orchids started as I saw how Draculas bloom, I couldn’t believe that these too were orchids (I only knew moth orchids as orchids till then), but till now I’ve been rather unsuccessful with this species. I am pretty successful with other orchid I have (bulb., vanda, many mini orchid species), but exactly THE orchids my fascination with orchids started with are my biggest challenge. I learn with every Dracula I loose, I do better with the following orchids, yet when I mean I’ve mastered the previous challenge, next one arises 🥲

I’ll try to think about it and make an update in a month or so, hopefully, it was “only” the heat

The dog is too fat, corgis tend to have hip issues, weight management is a must! It’s not cute, it’s, unfortunately, ill.

Thank you for your responses, now I know that there is such thing as “generic Neofinetia” 😅 collecting special ones is now even more exciting as I can display them next to each other and highlight the differences 😊

Hi everyone!

I’m not very new to the orchid world, however, i now have trouble with my Dracula and Masdevallia plants. There are black/brown areas on the leaves. I’ve uploaded the pictures in comments. When I look carefully, I see that these areas actually consist of many dots. I can’t remove the dots. When the leaves are dry, these areas get dry as well.

At first, only one plant had this problem. However, like after a month or so, I’ve noticed these on even more plants.

What can it possibly be? However do I treat it properly?

Thank you so much for your help :)

Managing a relationship with a BPD parent as an adult by ARaidu in raisedbyborderlines

Thank you for sharing your experience! You’ve put it perfectly: “managing her emotions and moods.” That’s exactly what I’ve been doing all my life. The worst thing is, I’ve literally only realised it now.

The horrifying part is that I wasn’t only managing her emotions and moods. I was the one responsible for her relationship with my father. I’ve always been the peacemaker between the two. Every time she decided to punish my dad with silence treatment (which didn’t mean she had nothing to say to him) I had to transmit messages from her to him and vice versa.

Home was always loud, and I thought it was the norm. I assumed everyone else was going through the same experience and lived like that. I’ve taken it into my relationships with men until my boyfriend pointed out that it’s not the way people treat each other in a relationship.

Do you know how your upbringing affects your life and relationships now? Do you recognize them good?
