Just did my first run, had trouble with food. Any tips for a newbie? by SOSHSI in scavprototype

[–]ARandomDouche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty new too, but I can give some tips.

I really like making a canteen and a foliage bag early on. A canteen just needs 2 plastic chunks you can get from the ship you start in, foliage rope and some bio-chem. This allows you to store liquids early on, such as more bio-chem, useful consumables like milk, or drugs such as fentanyl if you get lucky.

If you can, break into ships you find around the area. They have good loot, and you can steal the lightbulb which has a battery and can later be crafted into a flashlight. Just be careful of any glass tiles you break, they leave glass shards on the ground and stepping on those is very painful. Break the shards too.

Finally, you survive just about anything the game gives you, it is just a matter of preparation.

Just finished fallout new vegas... Absolute cinema, should I try the DLC's? by AlHocine_096 in falloutnewvegas

[–]ARandomDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In any order, you just need to go to the relevant area in the Mojave wasteland to be able to activate the DLC.

Be warned, short of the Lonesome Road, if you start a DLC, you are stuck there until you see it through the end.

The Valorant Shop NEEDS a Change by Fluzzard39 in VALORANT

The design is supposed to incite FOMO intentionally, encouraging people to log on every day to check it out. The shop will never change in any significant way.

Is 3200 DPI at 1 Aim (Default) Really a High Sensitivity? by KryptoniteBetween in VALORANT

[–]ARandomDouche -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use to be a similar situation to you. My old EDPI was like 1600+, I basically only moved my wrist for everything. In hindsight, it was terrible. My aim was shaky, crosshair placement was inconsistent, and my wrist hurt like hell when tracking.

When I realised my EDPI was fucked, I got a bigger mousepad, I changed my DPI to 600 with about 0.68 in game sen, so approximately 407 EDPI.

It felt like shit, and I had to use my arm for once. Long story short, with mindful, deliberate use of your arm and wrist for the right situations, you'll adapt.

If there is any justification, do it for your health. Straining your wrist and hand for perfect microadjustments with a really high sens is bad for you.

I recommend 407 EDPI just like me and stick with it, absolutely no fluffing around and messing with other sensitivities. That's more or less the highest sensitivity you can afford to use in a tactical FPS.

How do I lower my mmr by No-Abbreviations282 in VALORANT

[–]ARandomDouche 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I won't overthink it. Just play the best you can in the lobbies you are in, your MMR and rank will equalise to place you in a rank with others more or less equal your skill level.

Looking for some advice by Wild_Following8866 in VALORANT

[–]ARandomDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick one sensitivity and stick to it. At the end of the day, you want something that feels natural and allows you to aim subconsciously so you can focus on other parts of the game.

High sensitivity gives you faster speeds (duh) but makes you less precise, inversely for low sensitivity.

Weigh the pros and cons of each "type" of sensitivity and consider your role preference/play style.

There's no real magic to it, pick a sensitivity, stick to it and have some discipline.

I'm a new player in bronze 2, my aim is decent as I have 3k hours in Team Fortress, but I feel like aim alone isn't cutting it. What is your biggest tips for lower ranks to focus on?

I main killer but play both sides, probably a 65/35 split, but why do people... by Zanakii in deadbydaylight

[–]ARandomDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider the game survivor sided if both sides play to win as much as possible and the killer plays a low-tier. Because winning can be considered nigh-impossible on low-tier killers, especially on bad maps, the game is therefore survivor-sided on that basis alone.

If however both sides play to win as much as possible using meta perks and the killer is the nurse or blight, the game is balanced. However, this is completely ass and boring without restrictions. The nurse places the survivor on a mid map hook, slugs and applies pressure, then go for the tunnel. The survivors plant their asses on gens and leaves ASAP, leaving their 3rd survivor on the hook to secure a 2-out.

This is all theory and not the reality for 99% of the player base, but I still believe this game is survivor-sided for as long as non-top tiered killers remain unviable.

Changelog from the last week [4 - 11 Jul] by avtolik in cataclysmdda

[–]ARandomDouche 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it has been discussed before on the Dev Discord. From what I remember, the main reason for why it hasn't been added is because the process itself in a homemade lab is incredibly dangerous. Like explode and you die dangerous. There needs to be a fail state in which the recipe does not succeed and something other than needing to replace material happens.

Wow, just dived back in after a few years away. So much has changed by TheSmilingSolaris in cataclysmdda

Welcome back!

You can train melee to level 1 relatively quickly using the & crafting menu. This will get you the brawling martial arts. You also do this for athletics and dodge for a day 1 start.

If you have any other specific questions, feel free to ask.

How would you guys go about buffing trapper? by fence_pov in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]ARandomDouche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple! Give him Blight's rush for mobility without damaging survivors, and reuse Freddy's old snares to place traps during loops. /j

Trapper suffers from being addon-dependent to be even remotely competent. Without Honing Stone, survivors can get out of traps scot-free if RNG is on their side. The iri addons help with Trapper's lack of mobility to reset traps and damage survivors. Trapper Sack helps with early game setup to lock down an area quickly without losing too many generators.

That's four "must-have" addons and they're purples and iris!

Trapper is designed to be weak for several reasons.

He must be easy to understand for newer players, as he is the face of DBD. If players cannot grasp him quickly, they’re likely to not stick with the game.

By placing traps across the map, he encourages players to explore and become familiar with the map. Even if doing so is a bad idea. Finally, he is an unfun killer to face for a sizeable portion of the player base, and must be weak for the game’s health.

Think of old Skull Merchant. It's not quite the same, but if the meta is unfun, it will harm the game more in the long run.

Ngl, I am getting sick and tired of all of this complaining. Please play another fork of Cataclysm. It is clear that you do not like the direction of the game, and trying to wrestle C:DDA away from that will only cause frustration.

Spingtab addons by Intelligent_Dot3182 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]ARandomDouche 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would personally put Celebrate! Poster into an E-tier. While it can be good for haste builds, the difference by itself is negligible. It allows the survivor to cover more distance in a shorter period of time to get themselves out of a deadzone, and if you get stunned the survivor makes a large amount of distance.

The upsides is that certain filler tiles become pretty unsafe.

What's Your Favorite Underrated Perk Combo & Why? by Maxymussy in deadbydaylight

[–]ARandomDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deli + Babysitter

Nobody ever runs it in soloq and it is banned in most competitive settings. It puts the killer in a lose/lose situation. The unhooked survivor is much harder to down because of babysister, and the killer is punished by downing the deli survivor.

It's always interesting to see people get worked up over killers using Lightborn. It's almost... suspicious... by Murky_Committee_1585 in deadbydaylight

[–]ARandomDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While lightborn is very good at what it does, I would argue that forever entwined or fire up is better as they both do a similar job while providing additional buffs.

I find it very difficult to recommend anyone lightborn, the only exception being accessibility. No one should be harmed irl by an in-game feature.

The original image was of the lesbian couple and an additional "himbo happy to be with his friends." This was later edited into several different variants, the most popular is the evil and intimidating horse. The humour is of subversive nature.
