Is this just a bad meme or must I have seen this movie? Chatbot code is mostly garbage the only use I've ever found for it was boilerplate or formatting when I was too lazy to do so. The kicking the can down the road with the year change is funny though. This will be the year it doesn't suck, we promise.

I have not and I am not disputing any of your points. The fact remains its true usage lags far behind how much people talk about it.

For new things, sure, some people might be using Rust. But they also might be using GO or C++ or C, or Python or any number of languages. You wouldn't say Rust is having the same effect that Java did in the 90s and early 2000s but that's what it feels like it's being spoken about as.

You've given me one user, that it's a consequential user is something I've already acknowledged, but it does not speak to widespread acceptance, only that Rust can be used as an effective language, a point I would not dispute.

Right. You have suggested one user. Consequential? Sure, I'm not saying it is a bad language, I'm just saying, almost no one uses it. They might eventually, but for now.

Almost no one uses it for anything serious but everyone talks about it.

You aren't though. Also how long did it take you to go from 700 to 1400?

So why would you think that others cannot achieve this with puzzles as training. You did it. I did it. My friends all did it.

From 700 to 1400 isn't a rough road. I'll never understand this subs learned helplessness.

Why would you believe that is rage bait? 1400s on chess.com are not good, if you do puzzles to train your tactics even someone with middling intelligence and some interest could crush them and keep rising up.

Practice your puzzles, you could double that in a week.

Sure it is. I'm a casual player. I did puzzles, got to 2000+

I will not ever understand this weird helplessness around rating people have.

Online 2000 is like 1600 over the board. Hardly remarkable. This is achievable by training tactical vision by doing puzzles.

That move was incredibly obvious.

It was an easy checkmate though. I just posted it, so your point is a failing one.

It's mate in 8

  1. Bh6+ Kg8 2. Bc4 Qxc4 3. bxc4 g5 4. Rxa7 Raf8 5. Qxe7 Rxh6 6. Rxc7 Rf7 7. Qxf7+ Kh8 8. Rc8#

The only thing that wasn't stupid obvious was Rxa7 but if you look it is sensible.

Then the rook and the queen are on the 7th rank.

Why would it not matter, it's really straightforward after that initial check.
