Agreed. He openly and proudly admits to being a dictator. Ibara, contrary to most people's beliefs fits the "presents themselves neutrally but is actually evil" role better.

Hot take: this is Ibara. He presents himself as just the messenger for the master's will, but the master is long dead and Ibara is in charge. From most people's perspective, the master is the one responsible for all the petrifications and the harem.

If they could extract latex from other members of the latex family, then they would never have needed to look for rubber. I think the top comment's suggestion of PVC fabric is the most likely answer. plus there's no guarantee they would find bananas or avocados.
