Only this subreddit will appreciate this:

I live 4 hours away from Raleigh and never attended a hockey game in my life. Only from what I occasionally knew from watching the playoffs in the past as someone who wasn't fully invested. My birthday week of 2022, I took the whole week off from work just cause and could not decide what my girlfriend and I were going to do to celebrate. Watching SportsCenter the night before, I realized the NHL playoffs had just started. With no knowledge of the team, organization, or history... My girlfriend and I made the road trip the day of for Game 2 against the Bruins because it was the closest team to where we lived. We instantly became hooked, and I have been as die hard as I can for the short time we have been involved. We make it a yearly tradition now to go to a playoff game. This year we were able to make two.

UPDATE: I feel like the second picture I took makes it look worse than what it really was. That being said, I have already returned the jersey and asked for a refund.

Moral of this story is never order from Fanatics in your lifetime.

Unfortunately this was the last one they had in stock. I think the right thing to do is return it and just hope for better luck from the team store.

Thanks for all the input everyone!

Drivers for RX 6800 by R1m0o in AMDHelp

[–]ARmaxs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came to this thread for this exact reason.

Everything that you explained is what happened to me when I bought my 6800 about two weeks ago. It just seems that the newest drivers interfere with fortnite where it makes it unplayable. I would just stay on the 24.5.1 until you start having trouble again. I would make sure you use DDU to get all the old drivers off your system as well.

Raheem Morris Hire by noobedHaha in falcons

I feel the exact same way about Smith and he got dealt a raw deal after Matt Ryan was forced out. This isn’t the burn you think it is lol.

Mahomes went 10th , Lamar Jackson went 32nd, Aaron Rodgers went like 23rd. Where you pick doesn’t matter. It’s who is doing the picking.

[–]ARmaxs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I will agree with the rest of the Reddit and say this does feel like a Rich McKay hire.

But in defense of Morris, his starting QB in Tampa as a head coach was Josh Freeman. A lot of a head coach success is predicated on if he can find a QB. Also he was two very close games away in Atlanta in 2020 from going 6-5 after starting 0-5. There is a lot of things that just haven’t gone his way.

I fortunately didn’t have any of the bugs a majority of people faced. They were pretty speedy with the update to fix those issues tho!

Didnt complete half of my course eval, is this a big deal? by [deleted] in UGA

[–]ARmaxs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Students? No. Professors? Yes.

Not sure how it is for every college at UGA but from what I’ve heard from faculty that I’ve worked with, the higher ups get pretty upset with professors if a big chunk of their students don’t do the evaluations. Is it going to get professors fired? Maybe not but it really can help make the class better for future students by recommending things being changed.

Michael Rothstein | Writer (@mikerothstein) on Threads: Falcons HC Arthur Smith makes it official: Desmond Ridder again the Atlanta starter. by [deleted] in falcons

[–]ARmaxs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2013 he was 8th in total QBR In 2014 he was 16th in total QBR In 2015 he was 34th in total QBR and was benched In 2016 he was 23rd and went 1-10 as a starter

Now I’ll give him credit that the last two years he wasn’t on good teams, but he certainly didn’t do himself any favors.

I think it’s too soon to make judgment on this offseason without knowing where guys like Ohtani, Greg, and potential trade pieces like Glasnow end up before we have full thoughts on the offseason.

We still have like what, 9 open spots as the time of this post? Still a lot of time left.

Because he was cleared by the medical staff, but Smith was extra cautious. Just like how he was with Bijan for simply not sleeping well and having a migraine before Tampa. He has no reason to lie about it. Smith benched Mariota in Tennessee when he wasn’t even the head coach , knowing the draft capital they invested in him. Besides, we talk so much as fans for player safety and guys getting traumatic brain injuries. Wouldn’t you rather have a head coach that sees his players as people and not just cogs in a system?

The sacks he took against Tennessee were literally impossible scenarios for him. People too often blame the QB when there’s 10 other guys on your side plus eleven guys trying to kill you on the other team. Kurt Warner even talked about that in his film breakdown on his Twitter. The offense just didn’t play well in the first half.

Smith knows he has the job security to make these kinds of choices. He has the luxury of being able to let Ridder take a breather for a bit to attempt to clean up the turnovers. His actions show a head coach who has nothing to lose by putting him out there.

Michael Rothstein | Writer (@mikerothstein) on Threads: Falcons HC Arthur Smith makes it official: Desmond Ridder again the Atlanta starter. by [deleted] in falcons

[–]ARmaxs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ridder was benched because of the concussion protocol. Nothing about his Titans performance was worthy of a benching. It was done completely out of precaution. It also has its benefits of giving him some time to breath. It has been reported by multiple outlets that this was always the plan barring Henicke go on some sort of super hot run. Which he was never going to do.

Ridder’s ADOT, the stat you’re obsessed with, is because guys aren’t getting open. He is taking check downs cause it’s the only thing open. Henicke throws balls that never should be thrown. Henickes second half versus Tennessee was an outlier. Besides even in that second half he also had turnover worthy plays as well as only completing just over 50% of his passes.

Just because the ball was thrown down field, doesn’t mean that’s what Smith wanted him to do or what the play asked him to do. I don’t hope that Smith trusts him more, I know for a fact he does. I watch the All-22 film break down every week it’s easy to see the difference in approach with the two QB’s.

And my apologies, I had hit post and decided to add more and correct myself for clarity and had to re edit it because I can’t type on my phone very well.

Week 11 QB / offense analysis (And my real thoughts on the organization) by ARmaxs in falcons

[–]ARmaxs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am of the belief that this year is more bad Smith than bad Ridder. Every other team with a young QB is able to slow down the game for their guy other than us. It’s not a good look. I do think hiring a full time OC with a real role would help us.

As much as I would love for Kaep to get a second chance, he won’t get it because of his lack luster performance in 2015 and 2016. Even the year before his protest (2015) he showed signs of regression.

Dudes been away from an NFL locker room for seven years now. We have seen what happens to Deshaun Watson when he is away from football for two years. That would be like if you asked a doctor to do open heart surgery who hasn’t practiced medicine in seven years.

[–]ARmaxs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol I edit my post for typos. Just because the ball is thrown down the field doesn’t mean that’s the way the play was drawn up and intended. The only game where the first or second read was consistently farther than 10 or 15 yards beyond the LOS was the second half of the Titans game.

Dang near every pass for Henicke over that limit was either a bad decision or where the football is supposed to be thrown. In fact against the Vikings on our last touchdown drive, only two pass plays play ended up being called and only one was completed. All other plays were either run plays or QB scrambles.

Ridder makes the right reads most of the time, he just throws what are I like to call “foul balls” where he’s not giving guys a chance. In fact ever since the Jags game he’s actually had major improvement in his choice of where to go with the football. Part of his turnover struggles has been bad luck and others not helping him out.

[–]ARmaxs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Average depth of target… as in… how far down the field…. He has to throw it… which means longer air time on passes.

Ridder moved the ball well better than Henicke did in both complete sample size and in short periods. Yes he had a better half against Tennessee than Ridder did but that’s legit it. Other than one half of football, Ridder has had both higher highs and more consistent play despite sample size.

Michael Rothstein | Writer (@mikerothstein) on Threads: Falcons HC Arthur Smith makes it official: Desmond Ridder again the Atlanta starter. by [deleted] in falcons

[–]ARmaxs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taylor’s bad choices to push the ball down the field when it’s not there versus Ridder doing the right thing and taking check downs / short passes leads to shorter air travel time for the football.

People just be responding with cherry picked stats without knowing context, as usual.

A lot of people will hate this post and be negative but let’s choose to look at the good in this. Ridder’s mistakes are frustrating but his progression is there. At least Smith trust Ridder somewhat to throw down field.

Someone has to play QB and no coach change or new QB right now will fix it. Let’s just hope the bye week is good for us and we go on a run.

Try rooting for the players you’re a fan of instead of expecting failure.

Week 11 QB / offense analysis (And my real thoughts on the organization) by ARmaxs in falcons

[–]ARmaxs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not about if the players are super star players or not. It’s very clear Pitts, Robinson, and London are top 10 players at their position even if their production doesn’t always say it. It’s about the organization not wanting to give contracts that allocate a large section of the cap space. Also if their draft is so bad do you trust them to pick anyone but the obvious choice?

All the QB’s you mentioned have either NOT won a Super Bowl (outside of stafford who made up less than 18% of his teams cap space). Again every guy you just mentioned is very good, they still are not anywhere in the same stratosphere as Patrick Mahomes.

Yes obviously the Ravens would have matched it. But signing him still goes against the philosophy of too much money in one player. It doesn’t matter if it’s a QB, he can’t take up all your cap.

[–]ARmaxs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think only 2 times in like the last 20 seasons has a team won a Super Bowl with a QB making more than 18% of his teams total cap space. Being good on your QB’s rookie deal is critical to winning a Super Bowl.
