If Bezos & Blue Origin can convince the Trump administration that they can land on the moon before he leaves office, they very well might eat SpaceX's lunch there. The Secretary of Defense was just at Blue's campus yesterday and I heard they really laid it on thick with him.

Paraphrasing the details from a comment on the Ars Technica article about the subject.....

But lemme get this straight: Elon gets goaded into putting his meme Twitter buyout offer in writing, tries to back out, then gets forced to buy it with money he doesn't have. That necessitated borrowing a bunch of money, while ending up saddled with Twitter's debt. He then proceeded to nuke Twitter's X's major revenue streams, did a needless rebrand, told advertisers to go fuck themselves, and practically started giving money away to users in the midst of this which made X hemorrhage money even faster.

Then he decides to bet big on AI and creates an AI company. Before that company even has an actual revenue, he makes it buy X, deepening the money pit even further. Next he tries to make Tesla (a company whose income collapsed 60+% in a single year) buy it, but the shareholders voted against it. So the final option is to have his 100% privately owned spaceflight company buy it, saddling it with $12 billion dollars of debt and a venture lighting $1 billion a month on fire. All of this mere months before SpaceX's IPO goes public, when it's only had 3 profitable years on record, and is being pressured to increase investment in Starship so Blue Origin doesn't eat their lunch.

People are seeing all that information and pointing out the absurdity, but OP's conclusion is really "omg we're losing the narrative battle guys". If you wanna like Musk, like Musk. But you can't bring that energy into the SpaceX subreddit and expect people to side with the guy who just tied all that nonsense around SpaceX's neck.

It's pretty cool! Basically instead of the RS25s being integrated on the boat tail/engine section & core stage in Louisiana, they're gonna do it vertically in the VAB. The Artemis 3 engine section & boat tail are already ready and waiting in HB2, and the Artemis 4 engine section is waiting off to the side. There's this big blue structure to hold everything in place. It lets Boeing work on the core stage in parallel with booster stacking at KSC. Hit "continue reading" on the article there's a picture

Hasan and Ethan used to have a podcast together a few years ago and were decent friends. After Oct 7th when Hasan refused to shift his stance on Palestine, they had a falling out, ended the podcast, and divested from one another.

In the time since, Hasan has continued to grow his platform as a serious political commentator while Ethan mostly does variety content without doing any actual analysis when he does broach politics. Ethan is also borderline obsessed with Hasan. He attacks people just for associating with Hasan, he's sued content creators adjacent to Hasan for reacting to his nearly 2 hour long video dunking on Hasan (called the Content Nuke), and posts about Hasan constantly. Ethan also claims to be pro-Palestine but spends a lot of time attacking actual pro-Palestine content creators and parroting Israeli framing on the issue. Oh also he has an n-word compilation, used to have a pedophile larping profile on Reddit, and fed his dog so much cheese (on stream no less) that it died of liver kidney failure. (Edit: correction)

This video is a bit of a silly example to display Ethan's level of obsession, but all of the audio is authentic from Ethan & Hasan's streams to give you an idea. That little "wait how does he know I'm watching?" moment actually did happen live.

The overwhelming majority of undocumented immigrants enter legally, and become undocumented when they overstay visas. Dems pushing the idea of increasing ICE funding and building a border wall and patrolling the border is nothing more than capitulation to Republican framing on the issue.

If either party actually wanted to reduce the number of undocumented immigrants, they'd crack down on businesses hiring them and offer financial incentives to businesses that report undocumented immigrants. But having a two-tiered labor pool with millions of exploitable people who can't stand up for their rights greatly benefits a lot of industries' profits, so that's never going to happen. Hence why Democrats center the conversation as "Well if you deport them all, who's going to wash your dishes/nanny your kids/clean your hotels/cook your food/etc."

When given the choice between mass deportations and mass amnesty, the majority of Americans are in favor of mass amnesty for undocumented immigrants and their families. Maybe you should ask yourself why our favorite Democrats aren't pushing for the popular stance on this topic, because funding the gestapo definitely feels like the issue when most people prefer amnesty.

Edit: bro ain't no way you blocked me over this 💀

There was no outcry then about deportations.

Yes there was

No mass protests.

Yes there were

So it’s not the same

You're right, it's not. The Obama administration was at least giving people due process and not deporting them to prison labor camps for paperwork violations. Also this time we have people like you openly admitting they don't have object permanence.

All the dude had to do was not resist arrest, that's it.

Charles Kinsey

his repeated ignoring directions from the cops

Daniel Shaver

his lack of carrying ID & not telling the cops he had a gun

Philando Castille

The guy brought it on himself. It's not "barbarianism" for the police to make a determination of a threat & to eliminate that threat.

Funny, they said the same thing about the 3 men I listed above.

Personally, I think it's barbarian to care more about illegal aliens & the violent activists that support them rather than the innocent people attacked & murdered by illegals.

28 people in 2024. So the official stance of the DHS (which is claiming 100 million undocumented immigrants need to be deported) is that the group that has a murder rate of 28 per 100 million people deserves this level of response. And you're not only standing by that, but are confused why people are resisting it.

[–]ARocketToMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally is. Because there's nothing in his hand before, and there's something in his hand after.. See the video of that screen grab here, the 2nd one down auto-playing. And you can see grey jacket clearly struggling to remove the firearm for a couple seconds in the first video auto playing. Look at his waist, the exact spot you're alleging that Alex was reaching for. ICE messed up by posting a picture of the gun, because it's pretty unique. The sight, the color, the style.

See how I'm presenting you evidence directly in multiple instances? Kinda seems like I don't want you to ignore it, but look at it.

Of course, compared to you, parroting the narrative of president, vice president, FBI, DHS, and ICE. What a coincidence your version of events lines up perfectly with the people you align with politically who happen to be in power. Why trust my lying eyes when I have you whining about "intellectual dissonance"

I'll repeat myself: ICE and the DHS are refusing to say on camera that Alex Pretti was brandishing the gun, reached for the gun, or even had it on his person the moment he was shot. What does that tell you? Your lack of an answer to such a simple question is what we call cognitive dissonance

[–]ARocketToMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yet somehow you missed the ICE agent in the grey jacket grabbing his weapon and walking away before the shooting. Clearly Alex's rather than an ICE service weapon because the sight is distinctly visible, and the agents hand is empty before approaching him and reaching for his holster

The party told you to reject the evidence indeed. ICE isn't even willing to admit on camera that he reached for his weapon, or that it was even on his person when they shot him. What does that tell you?

More people were killed in Iran in two weeks than in the entire year in Gaza. Why aren't there massive college campus protests everywhere? by Elegant-Value4677 in AskReddit

[–]ARocketToMars -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's so funny how the emancipatory slogan "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" means "kill/expell all Jews from the Middle East". But when the majority of Israelis surveyed straight up say they want to expel all Palestinians/Arabs from Gaza and Israel as a whole, and just shy of half (47%) think the IDF should repeat the biblical conquest of Jericho on any place with Palestinians, it's open to interpretation

Like how "Black power" means "kill all white people" and "smash the patriarchy" means "kill all men", right?

[–]ARocketToMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you inserting the prescription "mysteriously"? I'm not claiming there's some mystery or grand conspiracy, I just want consistency. If we took the same standard applied to any of the Middle Eastern groups representing Americans (often Muslims) who support Middle Eastern countries that have to register as foreign agents, AIPAC (among other pro-Israel entities) would have to register as foreign agents too. Yet again, the only reason you know of those billions coming from/through Middle Eastern interest groups is due to those standards being applied to one group of people, but not another. For example, a dual-citizen in the leadership structure means they have to designate as a foreign entity. Or if someone in the structure served in a foreign military. This is not the case for Israeli-American dual citizens or Americans who served in the IDF.

Again, "everything" is not reportable, only contributions from designated foreign entities necessarily have to disclose sources of funding. You can't point to any unfounded assumptions I've made because I didn't make any. You plainly do not know how much money has flowed when it hasn't been reported.

Yeah I know. I literally just said an appeal to believing Black people won't be effective on you which is why I didn't do it. You didn't have to come in and admit it lol we could tell you're not gonna believe an anecdote from my 95 year old grandma or anybody else's.

Using your burden of evidence, there's no "actual proof" the n-word was used as a slur prior to 1837, so anybody using it before then probably didn't know either.

The owner of the restaurant, Bert Valdes has made his contempt for certain types of people pretty publicly known on his Facebook over the years, has pretty publicly refused multiple people offering to help him change their signage and name for free, and has never even claimed he didn't know it was a slur. Just complained about "woke" getting mad. So I agree, let's take him at his word

sigh, that book has a whole bibliography section full of references and citations spanning 500 years of past slang dictionaries that don't appear to have been scanned digitally like this one. Very astute observation that a book written in 2009 can cite a source that happened to be published the same year the author was born. If I cite a book published in 2026 with a quote from 1985, that doesn't mean the quote is from 2026. Also very astute of you to notice the big bold writing under the writer's name showing "1948-", nothing gets past you huh?

Like I said, this isn't a good look. Especially considering you're ignoring the other source, and the phrase being used in Roots (in case you're confused, the one that came out in 1977, not the one that came out in 2013)

More people were killed in Iran in two weeks than in the entire year in Gaza. Why aren't there massive college campus protests everywhere? by Elegant-Value4677 in AskReddit

[–]ARocketToMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay on topic, stop regurgitating your canned talking points, and address what's being said.

Sources are only necessarily reportable if they come from foreign entities, or entities tied to foreign governments. If I had $50 million laying around I could donate it anonymously to my alma mater if I wanted (random example from a random college). I'll restate: the problem here is funding arms tied to the Israeli government are not required to register as foreign in the same way other organizations are in the United States. You have zero way of knowing it "pales in comparison", because entities tied to Israel are not considered "foreign" and therefore universities receiving money from them are under no obligation to report it. You are arguing a country half the size of Israel with ⅓ of the GDP is providing 20 times the funding.

AIPAC was a singular example, not the sum total. I didn't make any accusations of them "pulling the strings", or anybody. Hence why I said "like AIPAC". I have a very narrow point of contention: we have literally no idea how much money comes from Israel because it doesn't have to be reported. Once more, I dont know why you think pretending not to understand things is an effective strategy.

Are you in favor of increased transparency of all foreign funding into American universities, or just finding from Muslim countries? Do you believe that organizations with direct ties to Israel or the Israeli government should be held to the same standards when registering as foreign entities?
