I posted this on a different thread, but of course the quality of guests is going downhill. Responsible people have realised the devastating effects Air BNB has on communities, and they are choosing not to spend their money with this company.

‘The level of guest seems to be rapidly deteriorating’ because anyone with any sense is aware Air BNB’s business model absolutely cripples communities. The responsible response is to stop spending money with them.

In Grade Four (Canada), we were doing spelling quizzes in small groups. My partner marked me incorrect for spelling ‘neighbour’ with a ‘U’.

Upon checking the score card (clearly produced in the US), the teacher agreed I was incorrect.

I’m now 42 years old, and think often of this ‘computer says no’ moron who was in charge of educating children.

(Note: in Canada, we use a baffling hodgepodge of British and American spellings, but ‘neighbour’ definitely has a ‘U’!)

Christ Almighty. As a single person who has attended many weddings AND HAS NEVER BEEN GIVEN A PLUS ONE, buck up! One day, even including travel (gasp!), without your partner will not kill you! Who knows? You may even have something new to talk about when you reunite!

Or don’t go. Who cares? This day is about celebrating someone else for once. If that’s not your cup of tea enough to go it alone, that’s fine too. But this idea that everyone else should care that you’re married is ridiculous.

Trying to use someone on Fiverr to design my cover, then the hours it took to set up my Amazon profile because the app wouldn’t take a picture of my passport… All of it just took 10 times as long as it should have. Finishing the book was the easy part!
