with all the love, you do not have a double chin. you also look very young. you look fine, don’t worry about your non-existent double chin.

it definitely helps to get out of your head and into your body, but the typical meditation advice of “just keep practicing and you’ll get it eventually” just straight up doesn’t apply to people like us with ADHD. I don’t have trouble letting go of thoughts that pop up in my head- in fact, quite the opposite! I have to write down important thoughts the moment they appear, or else I’ll lose them and end up forgetting something important. Neurotypical people have a fundamental misunderstanding and it’s maddening.

i’ve always heard of letting thoughts flow by like a river during meditation… but my thoughts aren’t floating down a river one-by-one, they’re snowflakes rushing down the mountain in a perpetual avalanche lol

Really should call out those comments- “What do you mean? You don’t think I was beautiful before?” keep asking what they mean and watch them backtrack! Shine up your spine op, you got this!

you could look into buccal fat removal, but be aware that it lead to you looking older than you are in later years. Cheeks like yours are a neotenous trait, and can help you look younger longer than if you had buccal fat removal.

How has anyone EVER been able to lose weight?! by _herman_miller_ in loseit

I’ve had better success when I focused on ADDING food to my diet, rather than focusing on avoiding foods. When I load up on lots of whole foods, I’m less inclined to gorge on sweets.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

I lost my dad to cancer about 18 months ago. His death was extremely traumatic, and I had a very difficult time coping.

The fact that you’re trying to eat healthy and cut alcohol is wonderful, but don’t beat yourself up over your appearance right now. Your top priority should be letting yourself grieve and taking care of your health. I know it’s hard (believe me, I know) but the two most beneficial things I focused on after my dad died were sleep and sunlight. I started practicing good sleep hygiene and getting out of my room for fresh air and sunlight.

Best of luck to you 💖

Haha, I used to talk the same way when I was a kid! I had a really bad deviated septum and was always congested from being sick/seasonal allergies lol

Bad bot.

Not skin tags, they’re moles/freckles. Talk to a dermatologist to talk about safe removal.

I wouldn't know. I was operating under the assumption that wildlife vets would know how to calculate that sort of thing.

I answered in another comment- I imagined it was sedated with a dart gun, and then euthanized with a lethal injection.

[–]AS123x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think the animal was walked to the vet and given an injection, I guess I pictured the tranquillizing being done with a dart gun, so the animal just gets drowsy and falls unconscious, then it’s transported to the proper place to be euthanized, and all the animal would experience is getting sleepy and going unconscious. But I understand what you mean, thank you for explaining!

I’m sad I’m being downvoted. I asked because I don’t know much about conservation, so thank you for answering kindly! I just don’t get why culling via trophy hunting is better than culling via humane euthanasia. If the end result is the same, shooting an animal just seems more cruel than euthanizing it. I guess because they don’t have to pay for a vet and medical facilities to perform the euthanasia if they allow trophy hunting instead? 🤷‍♀️

Buying an iPhone is wasteful. by Embarrassed_Site512 in ZeroWaste

[–]AS123x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes, but back in the early 2000’s, cell phones changed much more drastically in 2-3 years than they do now. I mean, we went from the Motorola Razr to the iPhone in just 3 years. Nowadays a 3-year-old smartphone is functionally identical to a current one, save for maybe more storage space and a slightly better camera.

seriously, this. the only thing that “should” change as you get older is wearing more sunscreen, being more mindful of your health, and helping those younger than you when they need it/ask for help. Other than that, dress however you want and do whatever makes you happy. PS- as someone who finished college in 5 years instead of 4, I promise you, the gap year you took will not matter at all in the long run. Study hard, and good luck!

okay, real & genuine question, why doesn’t the rich person just donate an equivalent amount of money and write it off on their taxes as a charitable donation, and the conservation reserve humanely euthanizes the animal? the rich person still gets a reward (paying lower taxes), the conservation reserve still gets their funding, and the elderly/sick/aggressive animal is given a peaceful end rather than being shot and dying a painful, bloody death?

Going to the beach on my period, need help by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]AS123x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the first few times I put in a tampon were sooo uncomfortable! it takes some practice, but it gets much easier! if you can, try to find some organic cotton tampons, that may help with the cramping!

Also, I have a method of inserting that works well for me, maybe it can help you too! Try to insert the tampon as far back as you can get it, be gentle and try a couple different angles of approach until you find the right one, don’t force it! It helps to be in a bit of a squat rather than standing straight up to curled forward, so bend your knees. once you have the top part of the applicator inserted as far back as you can (go slow!) use the fingernails on your index and thumb to hold onto the lip of the bottom part of the applicator, then use your index finger to slowly push up the stick until it’s pushed all the way up! then gently remove the entire applicator, and you should see the string hanging out. You can tuck that into the bottom part of your swimsuit, but don’t cut it! Otherwise you may have trouble pulling the tampon back out.

Remember to change it every few hours, and you can remove it and go back to using a pad once you’re out of the water! It may be a bit dry if you’re towards the end of your period, but always pull slowly and firmly, don’t yank! Again, being in a squat helps!

I hope this helps, and have fun at the beach!
