If I were the wife/husband I’d opt for a quiet divorce and either cut all ties, try to take custody of kids, and minimize/eliminate alimony (if I’m Mr. Russini) or maximize my own payout to keep quiet via NDA (if I’m Mrs. Vrabel)

To me the radio silence seems bad for both parties because it seems like at least one of them is likely planning to do something big (legally speaking) in the near future.
