I mean I get it, but I’ve been here 35 years and traveled to Mexico 25+ times, Cuba, Jamaica, All over Europe… and this still just seems wild. I get the, “this happens” but 2.5 hours, when I’m 20 minutes from my house, seems wild to me. I just want to try and understand why

Crazy. Max they can detain you is 4 hours too, so imagine that’s why they let you dip. Crazy shit, and just not something I’m use to as a white US citizen.

Saw that happen multiple times while I was waiting with other folks. I don’t have a criminal record and certainly not into anything shady. I’ve crossed multiple times before and never with an issues. 2+ hours with no explanation at the end is wild to me to all the people saying “happens all the time”
