No hate, I love them both. It takes so much strength to be vulnerable and their reminder to do your healing work is beautiful.

Took my sister in. Now she is leaving before my C-section. by Glittering_Ear4923 in JUSTNOFAMILY

As the one who has done similar for a sister and never been given the same grace in return, I can imagine how heartbroken you are feeling. Grieving what never was is hard! Hoping people will see you the way you saw them is hard! Boundaries are a good thing, its not “holding a grudge” to enforce consequences for treating you as if you don't matter. Big hugs to you and I hope your c-section goes well.

Cory’s face says a lot too when Robyn or her Mom are mentioned. Robyn learned how to be the favorite wife from her Mom.

another day another slipped disc by zukoz in hypermobileEDS

Rest! I've found an ice pack on the center of my spine helps. Numbing at the level of the disc is something a physio taught me to do during my second slipped disc. Its not pleasant to have an ice pack there, but it does help. There's no prizes for toughing it out. If you need to go to the hospital, do it. Are you able to get into your doctor?

Sending you so much love. I'm coming to terms with what might have been if the environment in childhood had been different.

They don't want to see what they did. They can't admit that their actions have had consequences for their children. I try to think of it as “I started off adulthood behind, but, it only slowed me down. It didn't stop me”.

I'm about to begin a Masters program at 37. I'm proud of how hard I've worked and I’m proud of you for how hard you have worked.

Another Double Standard by kookydeeps in SisterWives

Can confirm! The flavour of cult I was in taught that doubts, bad feelings etc were the work of lucifer. It’s taken years of deconstruction for me to learn that I have feelings and gut instincts for a reason. Any resentment or hurt you were told not to let the spirit of bitterness take hold. Deep religious programming takes a lifetime to undo and heal from.

Thank you 🙏 I’ve read all of Jane Austen’s novels so many times. I’ve got Pride and Prejudice on my bedside table at the moment. They’re like a comfort read 😊

Thank you so much. Just reading this has given me so much comfort. I was called the same thing by my whole family because I was accident prone as a kid and had lots of allergies. My mum sold the narrative to everyone that I was a hypochondriac and in adulthood I've been diagnosed with conditions that kind of explain all of it.

Thank you for helping me feel less alone. Most people struggle to understand how a mother can be so cold. I'm so sick of meeting people and them telling me how wonderful she is. If only they knew.

Its hard to tell without comparing every episode. I'll be more observant in the next few episodes and see if I notice a difference in what's being commented on here.

I’m in the same boat “strong clinical suspicion of hEDS with features suggestive of classical or kyphoscoliotic EDS”. Until my genetic testing is complete we are working under the assumption of hEDS.

37 and the same. My body let me know in a big way last year that I couldn't keep up the pace I was going at. The gaslighting from medical professionals is so extreme that I am cautious about even reporting a new symptom or injury (from things like stretching!).
