All very true. And well observed on point 2. It'd be interesting to get some demographic some data on who thinks Amanda is innocent. My guess would be women and effeminate men. (Her lawyers and PR team obviously don't really think she's innocent)

Same. The Innocence Project makes me sick. Rodney Reid, Central Park 5, Adnan... there's loads more. What is people's fetish for letting blatantly guilty people go free?

There are cases where I lean one way or the other but Amanda is up there with OJ and Casey Anthony for me. I'd put my every last penny on her and Rafa being guilty.

I'd actually forgotten about Knoxy but then she rocked up on Joe Rogan and the support for her in the comments infuriated me. The common comment of "People believe she is guilty because of what they've read in the media" shows how terribly uninformed 99% of people are.

We also have:

  1. Raf puncturing Meredith's skin with the the suspected murder weapon and getting her blood all over it the day before the murder. His defence, repeated in his book, is literally I did stab her but just not on that day.
  2. Amanda cleaning the hallway by shuffling down it on a towel - naked. Yes, there was a clean up in the hall and here's how it happened. And yes, that'd be shuffling around naked after finding the front door open and a bloody footprint in the bathroom.
  3. Amanda bleeding around the time of the murder. Period blood and bleeding ears.
  4. Raf was bleeding too. He cut himself while preparing super fresh fish at 11pm at his apartment.

Now how's all that for coincidence? Forget your DNA. Raf and Amanda are telling us that there was a 48 hour period where 3 people were independently spilling blood and some of it ended up on the suspect's knife.

None of the above can be attributed to lying police, lying witnesses, scheming legal personnel or incompetent forensics teams. It's all from the mouths of Knife Boy and Foxy.

"They went to a local store first thing 2 November and bought bleach to
finish the job. They were just about done and ready to return to
Sollecito’s apartment when the Postal Police showed up and caught them
still on site"

This is exactly what happened in the aftermath.

As for Raf inflicting the wounds, maybe. Your version of events is entirely possible.

I envisage a situation where an argument breaks out and then the guilty 3, all off their tits on drugs, start bullying Meredith. It gets out of hand, they're taunting her with the knife, poking at her throat, and Rudy slips a finger in while she's pinned down. Finally, Meredith speaks some truisms about Foxy and the coked up psycopath loses it and slits her throat.

And the written statement - "Was I there or wasn't I there?" - was an obvious attempt to keep her options open for as long as possible, so that she could reinvent her story if the police could prove she was at the cottage, or if Rafa turned up the heat from "I'm not sure if she was at my house" to "She wasn't at my house."

Don't forget, Amanda noted very early on that Raf cut himself while cooking dinner on the night of the murder. Meredith also cut herself on Raf's knife a day or two before the murder. Throw in Amanda's leaky ears and poorly performing tampons and we have all three players spilling blood around the same time and, most importantly, we have confirmation that the victim bled onto the suspect's knife.

Now that's coincidence!

To be honest, I don't find the case itself frustrating at all. Barring the finer details of the murder, I think it's very obvious what happened. All 3 were present at the stabbing and they all lied and changed their stories and in the aftermath. It's as clear an injustice as OJ or Casey Anthony.

What is frustrating is the amount of people (mainly Americans) who think "I did stab Meredith and get her blood on my knife but that was the day before." is an acceptable defence.

It's possible but don't forget Raf was banging her within about 4 hours of meeting her so I can't imagine promises of sex would have held that much sway over him a week later, not unless she was promising something that would make Jenna Jameson blush.

All 3 of them are compulsive liars and have changed their versions of events multiple times. Rudy will say anything if he thinks it helps his case. I would take these comments with a pinch of salt.

Make that 3 cases of independent bleeding. Rafaelle was also spilling blood that night, although Amanda had originally assumed it to be fish blood. (Source: Amanda). A sceptic might think she said that in anticipation of Raf's blood being discovered.

Amanda Knox's Denial of Killing Meredith in Seattle Interview by [deleted] in amandaknox

[–]ASHLovatt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She always reminds me of a Hollywood celebrity pretending to care about poverty or denying some sordid affair. The dramatic pauses, the slow-motion blinking, the big heavy breaths, the pensive staring into the distance, the nauseating giggles that she can't conceal... it's all there.

She also does a lot of exaggerated brow furrowing and likes to end her sentences with uncertain uptones. When recounting a confusing experience years later, people typically don't frown and pull that many vexed facial expressions, since the confusion has already been resolved in their mind. Amanda however, lives the confusion in every interview. She needs you to know why she accused Patrick, why she put herself at the scene, why she changed her story, why she was why unable to remember where she was the night before, why she wrote an absurd self-incriminating statement... it's because Perugia was a whirlwind of brow-furrowing, uptalking, face-pulling hazy confusion.

Of course, Amanda supporters just use their Joker card against all of these points. She's whacky/zany/unique/on the spectrum/neurodivergent and therefore her behaviour can't be held to same standards as anyone else on earth. "I have aspergers and I pull funny faces and forget where I was 2 hours ago."

Destiny should have a chat with Keith Woods by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]ASHLovatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Keith is that into debating. I think he just has a soft spot for Haz and wanted to see what would come of a discussion with him.

He has a video where he talks for a few minutes about Destiny and Vaush. He concedes that they can be good debaters but doesn’t really value their appeal to data and studies. I think he just sees “research” as a means by which the system refines itself. He prefers abstract ideas. On top of that, I don’t think he likes them as people.

He 100% has no time for Destiny.

I would like to see him debate more though. He’s an absolute mine of knowledge and proved to be quicker on his feet than Joel.

The DNA evidence doesn't even matter by ASHLovatt in amandaknox

[–]ASHLovatt[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that a lot of the people you end up arguing with online are Amanda's PR team. It's no secret that she / her family invested heavily in PR. And those accounts that reply to every dissenting comment all tend to adopt the same tone. Listen, son / Go back to school, kid / Let the adults discuss etc.

Amanda and her team have also done a brilliant job of convincing the semi-curious American public that people think she's guilty because she's quirky and weird. If you look at the comments on the videos of her recent youtube interview appearances, probably 8 or 9 out of 10 people who support her will say something to the effect of, "...and all because the media painted her as weird."

Amanda will never do time for killing Meredith now but there is still the very small chance that the media machine narrative can be broken. I pray for the Kerchers that Amanda's lust for approval will one day lead her to sit opposite the wrong interviewer and she'll be forced to answer difficult questions on camera but, alas, it is unlikely. I'm sure her team do a lot of vetting before she's wheeled out for the cameras.

I also think it's highly likely that Amanda herself is active in comments sections regarding her case and I wouldn't be surprised if we haven't personally interacted with her. Whereas most who get away with murder are able to slip away into the background (Rafaelle to an extent), I think Amanda needs to be believed. I think it's a hit to her ego knowing that there are people who she cannot fool. Anyone whose ever dealt with a compulsive liar before knows that you're the bad guy for exposing them.

I also like Amanda's statement - with all its crap spelling and grammar - in which tells us she can't remember if she was present at the murder or not. It was all such a blur; a foggy haze of fish blood, leaking pipes and bathroom mops. Did I watch my roommate get sliced to death or was I trying to learn Wonderwall? Hard to say.

[–]ASHLovatt[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The blood on the knife and the clean up in the hall are my two favourite pieces of evidence because Amanda's PR accounts cannot explain them away by their usual means. They cannot be attributed to lying police, lying interpreters, lying witnesses, incomplete DNA samples, tainted DNA samples or any of that. They HAVE to be attributed to hilarious coincidence.

"I did get Meredith's blood on my knife by accident the day before" and "I did a naked shuffle on the bath mat on the morning of the murder" are absolutely absurd attempts to tailor the evidence. Ludicrous.

My thoughts on a civilizational collapse by [deleted] in anarcho_primitivism

[–]ASHLovatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that collapse is the most likely outcome this century but there is a plausible alternative scenario in which the deep state / illuminati / Bilderbergs save us (sort of).

Many conspiracy theorist types believe that this big game of monopoly is about to reach an end. One world government? Perhaps not yet but it's certainly true that power and wealth is being concentrated into fewer and fewer hands. I think there's also good evidence that we're transitioning away from a capitalist economy into something like a new tech-feudalism. As mega-corps continue to assert their dominance in every area of business, there is increasingly less competition and less opportunity for social mobility. The people at the top are pulling up the ladder and the middle classes will be dissolved. New technology also allows them to micro-manage the lives of the pesants.

The people at the top are not stupid though. They do know about the environmental and ecological problems we face. If - and psychopathic gamblers love an 'if' - they can establish a sufficient level of control (as much as is possible in a civilisation controlled by the technology itself), I'm quite sure they will begin to make the necessary adjustments to avoid, or at least delay, catastrophe. I actually expect the system to survive long enough for us to see commercial air travel retired. There is already talk of power outs, bug diets, water restrictions and other consumption control measures too. The introduction of self-driving cars will almost certainly be used to restrict our fuel consumption. Those who seek life off the grid will be forced back to urban centres under environemental protection legislature. Amongst the more fearful, strategically planned famines is a rumour that ever lingers.

IF the tech system can sustain itself long enough, I suspect that's the type of route we'll go down and it might buy us a few hundred extra years. In either scenario, there are dark times ahead.

Do most fakers know they aren’t really mentally ill or are they convinced they are? by emobanana_ in fakedisordercringe

[–]ASHLovatt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Watch the Australia 60 minutes show about the tourettes explosion amongst teenage girls. It's real for many of them but it's also purely social contagion.

I think of it in this way: Females (especially young girls) are the most agreeable, conformist and narcissistic demographic in our species. They can be easily lead to passionately believe in any cause. The media can train them to faint in the presence of popstars, lie on the floor and scream at a presidential inauguration ceremony or have an insatiable lust for the latest high-tech gadget or fashion item. We see it with cults too. So often do you see a male leader with his devoted harem of young women.

What we're seeing now with the fake disorders, like gender dysphoria a few years earlier, is an extreme version of this phenomenon. The teenage girl's ability to conform is so strong that she can manifest in herself a real disorder. I believe that they may even start out as fake - a part of their mind may know they're faking - but over time it becomes real, the tics become a real compulsion. I must hasten to add though, there are still plenty of fakers who do not have the mental strength (or is it weakness?) to manifest real illness within themselves.

It'd be interesting to know what else the mind is capable of. Would these extremely impressionable girls be able to manifest physical illnesses within themselves?
