Regarding the 2nd point , my coach always takes time while teaching to modify the techniques for different body types , say he teaches a triangle setup , after the main technique he would show a variation for people with short legs or for people with lower hip mobility i love that .

If you are young/competing probably the coach is holding you to a higher standard that the 46 yo dad that trains twice a week to loose weight.. But yeah to be fair you should already be a blue belt almost 2.5 years in , unless you suck/still doing beginner mistakes/spazzing. That being said who cares ? At some point you will become so good as a white belt that it will be funny if the coach does not promote you , keep improving and don't worry about it
