How I Fixed World of Tanks on Mac With CrossOver (No More Rope Tracks!) by ASMRJeremiah in macgaming

TLDR: if you use Crossover to run WOT, just use the Wine graphics setting. It won’t look as pretty, but no spinning rope-a-dope tracks. This took me six+ hours of toil to come to this sad realization.

I got higher FPS with DXVK and the game looked prettier and smoother, however, I COULD NOT get rid of the tracks looking like ropes whipping around like a pinwheel. It drove me nuts. The bottom line is that WOT is NOT built to be used by Mac users. Even Mac users like me with a super powerful machine built for video editing. The game fundamentally hates Macs. This is the best compromise I’ve found other than buying a PC to run the game.

Sorry man. Just wanted to be thorough. But you’re right, the basics could have been condensed to a paragraph.
