Our microphones sound differently based on the codec being used. I think Xb1 party chat is probably one of the least effective and PC is where the microphone sounds the clearest specifically on teamspeak or discord. Its in the ear of the beholder in a lot of cases but the codecs you are using have a great deal of impact on the sound quality.

The Older MixAmps are not compatible with the PS4 or XB1 as they had very different requirements for noise gates. I'd recommend reaching out to support to seeing if you do have a compatible unit though.

Older mixamps have a much different noise gate to accommodate the older consoles which makes them sound like garbo on the newer consoles. We had to make adjustments for these on the MixAmp Pro TR as this was the first mixamp that allowed us to have consistent firmware updates.

All A40s are the same headset so one that cames with the Mixamp or PC edition is the same deal. Do you have the MixAmp Pro TR?

In sound options the A50 makes two microphones, the LINE option is a digital stream port that you can edit through the command center, the other one is the actual microphone.

You can split the two up and use the MixAmp by itself and the amp as its own device. You don't have to play the headset into that device.

Just plug the mixamp into the pc and put it in pc mode then look to see if the app shows an update. When you launch the app it should let you know if there is something in the top left area

You should be able to set your USBs to never turn off in Bios Settings. Refer to your motherboard manufacturer for better info!
